I think that in the long run, there will need to be a Way of the Bern Lemmy.

I think there may have been a Way of the Bern Discord as well.

But yes, having a platform with more control is vastly preferable to the risk of Saidit going down or following the path of Reddit.

I presume Discord would ban the sub for "medical misinformation" or some BS like that. 100% woke, data selling software.

Please let me know if/when that WotB Lemmy happens and/or if you'd like to collaborate on establishing a decentralized network of Lemmy instances.

I'm done with SaidIt.

Then what happens to your <checks profile> 54 subs?

I think you are probably right, even if Reddit caves on API pricing. Eventually, they will go after subs that are counter-narrative like WotB. Particularly with 2024 looming. Particulary when they are trying to sell a dementia patient again.

While Saidit is fine now, the powers that be will try to do to it, what they did to Subscribe Star when the largest Patrons of Patreon were leaving en masse in solidarity with Sargon of Akkad's ban.
