I'm starting to think that these motherfuckers are drinking lead-flavored water or something, because the sheer stupidity of their policies is just mind-boggling and not something I can see from someone who doesn't have extensive neurological damage.

It literally is just like Hitler's rise to power.

Anyone that questioned anything was labelled as evil.

It's why these things come to fruition.

Like Hitler though, it will fall. And it will be a BIG fall.

I’m not convinced that this is actually true. This is based entirely off what some “Tory source” claims.

Even if they were to make “misgendering” an offence it would be incredibly difficult for them to give it a tariff higher than common assault. Contrary to what people think, it’s actually fairly difficult to get a prison sentence for anything other than actual violence and even then you are still unlikely to get one unless you pose a danger or the offence was sufficiently serious.

This is Tory pre-election campaigning. There’s going to be loads more in the months to come as the gender bollocks is the one area where the Tories have Labour beaten.

The tories are feverishly setting traps for Labour on issues like gender identity and immigration so bear that in mind when reading anything, especially from the likes of The Daily Mail, the last Tory-supporting paper - even The Telegraph and The Sun have begun to ditch the tories.

All good points, but keep in mind that we've all seen some really wild and wacky shit in the last several years, stuff that would gotten you laughed out of the room if you'd told people back in 2016 or so that it was going to happen. I mean, this is the era when a guy can catch a hate crime charge for teaching a dog a stupid trick, remember?

So, yeah, it could be one party lining up to give the other an election season kick in the nuts. But it could just as readily be entirely legit.

He got a fine not prison, and it wasn’t a “hate crime” it was a breach of the Communications Act. It was also heard in a Scottish Sheriff’s court, and the Sheriff was particularly cuntish.

The way elections work in the UK is that political parties publish a manifesto laying out their priorities if they are elected, these will have been focus grouped and run through all sorts of market research testing before being put before the public. Generally, nothing that isn’t on the manifesto gets parliamentary time in the government’s schedule and without parliamentary time it isn’t going to be passed into law. Private members’ bills rarely pass unless they are on topics with very wide appeal. So unless Labour wish to make this election all about gender-identity they will have nothing about criminalising misgendering.

They are already lining up to take a beating if they include changes to how the gender recognition process works, and their proposed changes are stupidly vague and don’t seem to include self-id.

Ah, then my source was wrong, because it lists in the first lines of the article the following:

A man who filmed a pet dog giving Nazi salutes before putting the footage on YouTube has been convicted of committing a hate crime.

And if you keep reading that article you’ll see the actual charge, a breach of the Communications Act, which the BBC has editorialised as “hate crime”. There is no “hate crime” charge, it is usually considered an aggravating factor for sentencing.

This is just semantics. They didn't call the law "The really bad hate crime bill" so it's not a hate crime law? No, it's the effect it has and how it's used which counts

Yeah- this likely cannot be true, because everyone- even the people against misgendering on paper, know the endgame if this happens is "I don't like this person's face? Oh, sorry, you called me Danganronpaself with this flag when I felt Danganronpaself with THIS flag, so you misgendered me. ARREST THEM!"

By 'wrong' pronouns do they mean using the actually right pronouns, the demonstrably, biologically, objectively, correct pronouns ... or do they mean that they'll stick you in jail if you truly use pronouns incorrectly, like using 'she' (feminine) to refer to a male or 'them' to refer to a single person, which also seems extreme of course but at least less insane? :D

When hundreds of Muslim kids get tapped on the shoulder this week after the protest we might see this quietly die. Hate crime and hate speech laws are mainly pushed by self declared community leaders looking for a power grab. They won't like it when it comes back on their families.

They are all "its." Come get me, I'm bored.
