What is that thing they say again? "free speech does not mean free from consequences" oh yeah thats the one.

Except it was only supposed to ever apply to the people that they didn't like. You know, those "Nazis" and such.

The irony being these people are literally closer to nazis than anyone who’s career they ruined and now we have proof.

It's almost like kikes control the entire US

Almost as if no one wants these needy kids and their identity politics they repeat without ever engaging their brains.

Any sane person will take "kikes" over goat fuckers.

They are both goat fucker cousin desert rats. Choose neither.

A flurry of Harvard University students and groups are desperately trying to backtrack on their support of a letter blaming Israel for the mass slaughter of its own people by Hamas terrorists — as some business titans seek to blacklist them from future jobs.

All those Harvard students who thought they were heading into lucrative careers fucked their futures in order to signal their support for murderous Mohammedans.

They seem like the types that would happily ruin other peoples careers for sharing the "wrong" opinions. Kind of fitting that they would see their own future compromised from expressing an actual shitty opinion. Hopefully they learn something from this

Thinking they won't double down and say the big mean RepublicanwhitecishetskinnydiagnosednonDreamstanpatriarchy cancelled them for defending some poor innocent Muslim black BIPOCs who could never do nothing to nobody, honest, ? That's silly. You're silly.

And to think all they had to do to not have that happen is literally not support terrorism.

Well not even not support terrorism, not support terrorism right after a major attack and loss of life.

Yeah, it’s not a big hardship to just bite your tongue, at least until the bodies are cold.

Genuinely surprised at how...dense some people are over this.

Yes if you're out on the street chanting pro Palestine slogans while it's happening/right after people are going to judge you. Even if you believe pro Palestine doesn't equal pro Hamas the timing there matter. Because it sure as hell looks like you're supporting Hamas/their actions. The fact that I've seen so many people have trouble with this concept is baffling. It's like they lack the brain to work out why it's a bad idea while having a stunning lack of empathy for those that just died and their families. At best it's inappropriate timing that will weaken your cause.

They are in such a well protected bubble of people who all think the same and never have anyone challenge them. I remember one Palestinian writer saying that other muslims treat their issues like a soap opera. They get enjoyment cheering and booing goodies and badies and not from trying to solve the problems. In fact if the problem was solved peacefully away they would be disappointed because the narrative arc wasn't satisfied. Most western leftists are the same with numerous minority groups they patronise.

But on the other side...not a single student at Harvard remembers where they were at 9/11, if were even ALIVE during 9/11. So you have a bunch of angry teens who just want to adopt anything that would make Mommy and Daddy hurt for not buying them a pony when they were 8, and found out that Mommy and Daddy are so accepting they'll support anything the kid turns out to be.

The only thing that would hurt Mommy and Daddy is if they turned out to be a terrorist, so a terrorist they shall be.

So, some wags have hired a digital advertising hoarding truck and are currently driving around Havard displaying the names and photos of the students who went full-Hamas.

Remember though, there’s no such thing as cancel culture…just consequenc….hahaha

Not many boring cis whites on there.

Solidarity is not such a great thing for minorities after all.

What's really funny is how they're suddenly desperate to protect the identity of these poor students. Yet, I wonder how many of those students were eagerly supporting the outing of everyone who was part of that January 6th business?

[–]jet199 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

They argue that these highly educated students were to stupid to know what they were signing but signed it anyway.

Great way to get work, that argument.

So many law students signed a document with reading it!!! Ignoring their despicable opinions, that should warn against hiring them as lawyers!

Especially considering it's Harvard, and pretty much every possible career track that they offer a course for requires you carefully read through shit to do your fucking job at all.

This is so idiotic. The letter they signed basically restates the exact same thing Haaretz newspaper said. Pro Israel propaganda is so much more effective in the US than it is in ACTUAL Israel.

[–]jet199 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Nope, it's very smart. No one wants these woke SJWs in their companies causing chaos. Now they have a great excuse to keep them out.

Criticism of a far right religious extremist political party in a foreign country isn't "woke" you absolute dipshit. Haaretz is an Israeli newspaper in Israel and said the exact same criticism.

Which is why they can't criticise Hamas for the crimes they commit and have to blame someone else for making them do it.

the mood there is seems half "dammit Bibi, not again!" and half "time for USS Liberty 2.0!"

it's interesting to see how the sad doges of NAFO split in half over this: foreign policy really is just a fantasy football league for 80% of Americans (I've seen alt-righties blame opposition to the Russian side in the Donbass on Cultural Marxism that the USSR planted; or Ursula von der Leyen getting roasted for condemning the cutoff of cities in 2022 and applauding it 2023)

at least when a Congressman gets indicted for helping NORAID or Parliament gives a unanimous ovation to an SS volunteer who saw the Eastern Front 1943 as the happiest time of his life, there's some hyphenated-American ethnic connection there

[–]Q-Continuum-kin 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

time for USS Liberty 2.0!

I had completely forgotten about the fact that Israel bombed a US ship. Now my brain is smoking because i think there's another incident that I can't quite remember. Israel claimed that the USS Liberty was an accident but the ship was floating just outside Egypt at the time. With my modern understanding that now seems more like it might have been an attempt to provoke the US to hit Egypt. I swear there was some other explicit incident where Israel did something against the US to provoke a response. Google isn't helping. God Google is such shit now. I'm trying to phrase something to look up historical events and only get pages of what happened this weekend.

I think there was an incident where Israel was secretly bombing other Jews in various countries to create a sense of terror and encourage Jews to leave their home country and go to Israel.

yesterday's conspiracy theory is today's Wikipedia article I mean of course everyone also loves playing footsie with Sunni terrorists too, Hamas included

so the consequences of Realpolitik are easily turned into stories of the Winged Hussars of the Light against the Orcs of Mordor: remember when the reporters were getting tingly about missiles hitting Syria and the White Helmets got an Oscar? Ben Shapiro was there last time, too

[–]Q-Continuum-kin 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Yeah I tend to remember most of the American based shit but yes that thing in Egypt was probably the actual thing I was thinking of. I also had to laugh that OF COURSE the conspiracy was trying to blame the bombing on "Egyptian Communists". I swear the only reason these corrupt governments are so insistent on supporting capitalism is because they know capitalists can be bought off for the right price.

it's also interesting to see it all in terms of small, dependent countries: "we'd better look like mad dogs ready to attack even our own patrons and our own soldiers at a moment's notice": North Korea, El Salvador attacking Honduras 1969, Rhodesia, the Sri Lankan civil war (where the Red Cross had to stop giving the government forces the locations of its medical camps--also the war where suicide bombing and double-tap attacks on EMTs were invented)

a bigger country like Indonesia or Argentina (or even Nazi Germany) has to put in more effort into disappearing or relocating their targets rather than murdering them in front of the cameras and daring anyone to stop them
