Did they not get the memo? You are whatever you feel like at any given moment and anybody who is even the tiniest bit skeptical has committed a bigoted right-wing fascist violent hate crime on par with genocide.

According to how those words are used I don't get how the 'non-binary' claim can ever be false. Victoria Police has direct insight into 'true souls' of their officers?

There's still no good definition for non-binary so it's a meaningless label. What are non-binary clothes anyway? We gonna go look at their clothing receipts and if we see them shopping in the men's or women's section instead of the neuter section we got them for fraud?

I say we just bring out genetic testing. Anyone who checked non-binary who has binary sex chromosomes is clearly a fraudster.

Exactly. I like to bake and do activities with my kids. That's traditionally feminine. So I'm non binary.

So you are saying you enjoy doing non-binary "activities" with children?

Woah woah woah, I'm not a Democrat. Let's not go too far with the phrasing here. I just want $1,300 a year extra.

Translation: "Police are shocked that stupid exploitable rule is being exploited."

Why do female (and if I understand right, "non-binary") cops get a larger clothing allowance in the first place?

It's not cheap looking like someone's lesbian Nan, you know.

Mixing up Poms and Diggers is fighting talk!

I didn't even process this until you mentioned it. This sounds illegal, but maybe their woke ass country is allowed to financially discriminate against males. Idk.

I am thinking maybe its plain clothes officers that get the clothing allowance as for why it exists in the first place as for it being higher for them than males? Woke shithole...

I guess, there's probably some truth to the idea that women's clothing can be more expensive, but it seems like a weird system. Assuming the purpose is for undercover cops as you guess, you'd think they could keep a little better track, at least have them itemize what it's for (like "Drug dealer outfit - $70), not just give them a flat amount every month.

[–]wylanderuk 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Yeah I am pulling my opinion from it being plainclothes is because they say its "majority of a CIU (crime investigation unit)" so not necessarily undercover, but not uniformed officers.

[–]IMissPorn 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Ah, hmm. So maybe it's more like "The uniformed police get their clothing provided, shouldn't why get something too?" if so, then yeah, I have to agree with your assessment that there's no good reason for women to get more money.

[–]wylanderuk 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking "they have uniforms why a clothing allowance?" till I got to the bit I quoted in the article.

[–]LordBeetusRises 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Those cops are going to have some cool lawsuits on their hands. Imagine the victim points of being detained and investigating because of your gender identity. I'd push for hate crime charges if I were one of these cops.

How do you possibly police this? How do you prove if someone is sincere in their bullshit identity or not? Also this seems like a good example of a needlessly gendered policy. Why would women get a clothing allowance? What does Non-binary clothing entail?
