A gay ship. Oy. Next up, homosexual rocks.

Your honor, I can absolutely prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that those rocks are homosexual.

As you can see here I've shown the rocks pictures of chipndale male prostitute performers, and as you can see, knock knock, the rocks are completely hard.

I rest my case. These rocks are as certainly homosexual as my law degree is totally valid.

Gays really need to learn that queer theory is very much not a good thing for queer people and queer history is not at all the history of gays.

Just making up a load of shit is very much in line with queer theory and it's aims.

"Im gay so let me explain why everything in this collection relates to homosexuality."

Narcissism. No other word for it.

I mean, left-handers don't cause this much fuss--heck, they've been persecuted in the past as unnatural freaks, language is stacked against them ("sinister," "offhand"), and they probably have some mean quotes from some minor prophet or statistics to cherry-pick

there's nothing stopping, say, German-Americans or southpaws from climbing aboard the whole "nobody in all human existence has suffered as we have!" schtick, being incessant "what about ME ME ME" "stop talking about YOU all the time" pests, and coercing compliance by dogpiling even people who AGREE with them until society just stops resisting

it's sorta interesting to see WHAT abstractions are arbitrarily chosen and enforced: I mean if some prof demanded that all students and employees in the US and Canada be forced to take yearly mandatory training in their own take on Reader-Response Theory, Terror Management Theory, Bicameral Mind Theory, David Hackett Fisher's Albion's Seed, or the phases of US covert warfare or else they're suspended/fired, everyone would look at them like they grew a second head: but demand that the whole planet bend over and take mediocrities like Nikole Hannah-Jones's dictates up the ass or be hounded the fuckin' suicide, and everyone claps along like circus seals

[worse, that Toronto principal's suicide was because he wouldn't agree that Canada was more racist than the Deep South in the 1850s, which is what we're ALSO apparently supposed to believe]

Yeah of course. Lefties are responsible for all the world's problems naturally. Scissors not working right. Smeared ink on the page, high taxes, Communism, happy meal bans, the list goes on. If that isn't sinistral I don't know what is!

[–]fuck_redditThou/Thee/Thy 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Hey, the French are responsible for their fair share of world problems too!

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Ultimately the French are responsible. The French invented the left during the French revolution. Before that everything was all right.

A row has broken out after a museum adopted objects found in a sunken Tudor warship as being 'queer' in an attempt to interpret them as representing LGBTQ+ stories.

The Mary Rose Museum, which is dedicated to the famous ship that was raised from the depths of the Solent in 1982 after more than 400 years on the seabed, has raised eyebrows after claiming some items found in the wreckage can be viewed through a queer lens.

This includes a nit comb which represents how hair is a 'central pillar' of queer identity, a gold ring that shows the 'long history of queer people marrying or viewing themselves as married' and a mirror that 'can bring up lots of emotions for both straight and LGBTQ+ people'.

The claims have drawn scorn from historians and the wider public, with the museum itself admitting it would be 'impossible' to determine the sexuality or gender identity of the crew members.

The blog, titled 'Queering The Mary Rose's Collection', says it attempts to use 'Queerness as an interpretive tool to represent LGBTQ+ stories'.

Wanna feel old? The kids who had the [insert character the person likes] is totally [insert their made-up sexuality/identity], they're OURS now! You can't like them they're OURS!" have grown up enough to get jobs at museums.

I feel old enough already, I was excited by the raising of the Mary Rose and followed it intensely as a 7 year old.

The LGBTQ lefty trannies will do anything or say anything to appear to be "normal" but they are not normal. They are queer pedos.

[–]The_Best_Yak_Ever 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Holy fuck that’s tasteless, classless, and offensive. And they cry and throw tantrums because us normal people are getting sicker and sicker of anything “queer” or trans. I really feel for the regular ass gays and lesbians who keep being used as a shield for these fucking freaks and perverts.

It's really disrespectful. The Vasa museum has some of the bodies there and speculates about a few things but it's more along the lines of potential relationships (We suspect this child is related to this other person on board) and how many bodies there are (between 17 and 19). The most speculation they have is that the skeleton they have called Johan may be the captain (Hans Jonsson) but they admit they can't prove it.

The idea that you'd go there's a comb, see how gay they are would really annoy me there.

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Are the bodies from the Mary Rose or a different ship?

[–]Haylstorm 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They're from the Vasa. Should have been more clear. Just thought it was an interesting contrast with how it was done.

That's the long and short of LGBTQ in academia. They're forever looking for gay in everything. And it's highly unlikely there were no gay people, but there was one thing they had back in the day we seem to have given up; discretion. They kept their private lives private. They think they're mining new gold with that info, but in reality, it's reductive. It reduces the achievements and works to their sexuality, something that certainly was never the goal.

To be fair, back in the time of Henry VIII they punished gays by hanging and seizing their entire estates leaving nothing for widows and heirs. The charge was used against non-gays by Henry to enrich himself, because he was a massive bastard and the seized assets went to the Crown.

The trouble with the claims about historical gayness is that they are rarely backed by evidence.

There’s a contingent of “historians” that are determined to prove that there were black or gays in pre-modern England and part of me suspects that it stems in part because they think it will trigger straight white people, the other part thinks it’s a cynical attempt to claim that England, and it’s always England, was always diverse as an argument against those who complain about the rapidly changing demographics and frankly ridiculous immigration rates.

I mean Henry 8 was the first to criminalize it and use it against his opponents Stalin-style, and it was very strict compared to the Continent (where enforcement was more de facto, 1799 France even had an "out" co-president who was gay in the modern sense) since the Tudor state was more centralized and could catch who it wanted (no parlement or Hansa city could have a carve-out from nationwide laws); just watch Les rois maudits (which GRRM enthusiastically admits to ripping off) for that sort of backstabbing politics; and seamen have always had a well-earned ... reputation

but that just shows this is just imposing modern definitions onto the past, in the clumsiest manner--the biggest sin historians can think of after outright forgery; ditto "Two-Spirit," they just kludged together some Cree and Navajo categories and declared it "Pan-Indian trans" when the were semi-outcasts who had to sit in flints ever month to bleed (and, no, they didn't see them as men who BECAME women); 21st-c. categories and ideas about aren't eternal, objective observations but just as trendy and coincidental as anything else, and that's gonna sting

the desperate scramble to make themselves relevant, to "change the world rather than just describe it," (and "trigger the chuds" like Ghostbusters 2016) often drives smaller departments like anthro, geography, Anglo-Saxon Old English studies to "stand on your head and spin" levels of crazy fantasizing to "radically reinterpret" the dusty old fields: Marija Gimbutas and Margaret Murray invented a matriarchal Goddess-worshipping Paleolithic Europe out of whole cloth and a handful of artifacts, and most people still really believe in it (even if implicitly)

you can even see the desperation by what they're "queering"--a mirror? a fuckin' MIRROR?! they wrote a run-on "queered interpretation" full of polysyllabic academese buzzwords for a mirror jammed behind a post when the ship sank

[–]wylanderuk 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Actually I would laugh if their "queer mirror" turned out to be some kind of heliograph...

[–]OuroborosTheory 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

presumably all prisms are gay because they generate rainbows, and Newton was indeed aroaceTM

[–]wylanderuk 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well shit, that means I must have been unknowingly queer since the 90s...You know since that is when I started growing out my hair...
