Not really surprising. I take the idea that "I have disphoria but don't want to transition" as the more sane position. Since there are obviously a lot of fairly objective reasons why transition is not desirable, if not only for the main reason that it won't necessarily do anything to help the disphoria.

Pro trans-spaces generally can't be open to that mindset though since you'll have a lot of people very much into the sunk cost mentality of transition or bust with their own misgivings about the process which they bury under a veneer of unceasing positivity about the whole process as being the one and only path towards salvation.

Especially since admitting that fixing disphoria without transition is desirable is tantamount to admitting that it's a mental health issue. Which is of course a general taboo in online LGBTQ circles, partly based on legitimate concerns that society will revert back to the kind of horrific forced treatments that gay people were once subjected to that weren't at all helpful, but partly based on simply an inability to admit to themselves that they might simply not be "normal" and they haven't yet come about to realize that nobody is truly "normal" across the board and it's fine to be abnormal so long as you don't let it be a handicap to your life or to someone else's.
