I couldn't care less about other people's children and I hide feeds of people who overshare, but I don't feel the need to broadcast it to the world. I'm too busy obsessing over tranny shit.

r/childfree is one of those subreddits that perfectly proves the problem with Reddit. Because of the upvote system, subreddits will eventually trend to being the most stereotypical and extreme example of the subreddit's purpose. It's not enough to say "Eh, just don't really feel like having children", because that won't get you the updoots, someone has already posted that before. So from there you have to go to outright celebration of how you've actively prevented yourself from having children rather than just passively, then eventually it reaches this point, where they're saying other people's children need to fuck off and die.

Tbh I think some of the threads are reasonable. Especially the ones about preferring to not have a child if they were severely disabled. I have an only child, I'd have absolutely loved to have had 3 or 4 kids but it hasn't happened and is very unlikely at this point. But while I feel some sadness that I don't have more children and that my son doesn't have siblings, I have a couple of friends who's second child has severe disabilities. One friend has a non-verbal quadriplegic child and another a severely autistic child who has very limited speech and no impulse control. They are lovely children, sweet, often very loving and their joy is infectious when they experience it. Their parents love them very much but aspects of their lives are so hard and get harder with each passing year as their children get bigger and/or stronger. There is no denying that it has an impact on their other children. And ultimately, long-term care plans as my friends age, include their other children taking on responsibility for their sibling.

It's honestly heart breaking and I strongly feel that my life with one healthy child, who has the potential to grow into a healthy adult who can live an independent life without my care and without responsibility for another person until he has his own children, is far, far better. It's what I think about when I feel sad that I don't have more children and it's what I think about when I get sad as my son grows and needs me less. I honestly think that these years of active motherhood are the absolute best of my life, I love it so much and will grieve it when it's gone. But I'm also well aware that it's meant to end and I'm glad that it probably will because the alternative, having a child that can never grow into a healthy, independent adult is mostly sould destroying.

Child phobic perhaps? I mean it sounds like this is just to the extreme. You used to be a stupid brat yourself, you grew up, kids today will to.

I actually think it's fine if you feel that way and try to avoid kids honestly. That's a healthy adult response to searing hatred of something, avoidance. But this seems to be a bit extreme. Replace child with idk, Jews, or gays, or anything and you'll justifiably get bashed for having to work out "your problem" with them.

Say what you will of the type of people in the world who hate children though. They've always existed. I'll say it's fine if you feel that way but you shouldn't really show it. In public facing life humanity needs children and children need to be given some degree of license to fuck up and be annoying or else they'll not grow up into competent adults and then society will be fucked up with a bunch of adult children like OP here.

Yup, nail on head.

This classifies as a textbook phobia, unlike homophobia, transphobia and xenophobia.

This is how I feel about adults. And I love children.

Odd.

Amen.

You know. I'd just love if social media showed poster's age next to their post. Half of this reads like it's been written by kids themselves.

It's funny how infant genocide is super swell on Reddit, but when I say there are 2 genders I get banned.

Kids who behave like shitty entitled brats (which is most of them) I could easily do without. But I blame that on the parent more than the kid.

Is this because they get stares from kids who can obviously see through their facade?
