A boy and girl, both aged 15, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 16-year-old girl at a park in Warrington.

Brianna Ghey was found by members of the public at Linear Park in Culcheth, Cheshire, on Saturday.

Emergency services were called just after 15:00 and she was found lying on a path with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teenagers arrested are from the local area and being held in custody.

Cheshire Constabulary Det Ch Supt Mike said a number of inquiries were under way and police were trying to establish the "exact circumstances" of her death.

"At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that the circumstances surrounding Brianna's death are hate related," he said.

The solution to the mystery is to be found at the Daily Mail.

Two teenagers have been arrested by officers investigating the murder of a 16-year-old transgender girl who was stabbed to death in a village park.

I don't know, this might be the exact opposite of TiA and into "...yeah, this is kind of important information, not 'wokeness gone mad.'

I'm not sure what you mean. They mention the victim was trans-identified and also include a photo, so it's not like they're hiding his race if that's what you're getting at.

As usual, it's the identity group of the accused that they're careful to avoid mentioning.

They updated it hours later.

For the first few hours they weren’t reporting it, they weren’t mentioning the transgender status and simply calling Brianna a “girl”

They’ve now added:

“Brianna was a transgender girl but detectives said there was no evidence to suggest her murder was a hate crime.”

Ah. Well glad they fixed it then.

Yeah, i posted the thread because it took them so long to correct the story that I wondered whether they had adopted some editorial rule about mentioning sex or transgender status.

This is a problem but the way it usually works is they go out of their way to identify victims as trans and then go out of their way to not mention it for the attackers. That skews statistics so they make it seem like "trans genocide" is a thing and also makes it seem like "women" are now suddenly committing violent crimes.

I think the Scottish Trans Rapist situation might have brought an end to identifying sex offenders as women if they identify as trans.

The police stating that they don’t believe it to be a hate crime is a welcome change too, a year ago they would have done so on the say-so of any random who claimed it was. The way hate crime status in the UK used to be assigned is that anyone including the reporting officer and interested but uninvolved parties could simply “perceive” it to be and it was. The guidance issued by the College of Policing seems to have changed somewhat.

You can almost hear how giddy some people are that this has happened. Finally a case they can point to and say "This is your fault this is". It's nobody's fault but the perpetrators' and teenagers getting stabbed to death has become an unfortunately all too common occurrence

The fact that It seems to coincide with hogwarts legacy has brought a bunch of smooth brains out of the woodworks to saying shit like “see?! This is the trans genocide we’ve been yelling about!! This is JK Rowlings fault!!!”. I won’t be surprised if bullying gone too far is what happened here, not that it makes this any less upsetting or unfortunate for everyone involved.
