Mr Lister, a teacher at a school in Swindon, had enjoyed an unblemished 18-year teaching career before he was dismissed for ‘gross misconduct’ this month.

He had refused to refer to a biologically female student, aged 17, by their preferred male name and he/him pronouns in A-level lessons.

The 59-year-old teacher told The Mail on Sunday he was concerned that the ‘out-of-the-blue’ request amounted to social transition, which could put the teen on a pathway to irreversible medical treatments.

‘I wanted at least to make sure that my student had parental support and was making an informed decision,’ he said. ‘As a parent myself, I would have been furious if my child had taken this step and I hadn’t been told anything.’

Mr Lister said he was ‘gobsmacked’ when he approached the safeguarding officers and was told the parents would not be informed about the student’s wish to identify as male in the classroom. The school’s guide to supporting transitioning students states that staff should ‘maintain confidentiality and only tell others about the person’s trans status with their permission’.

Mr Lister said he then found himself in an ‘impossible position’: ‘I ended up pointing to her as politely as I could to avoid either dead-naming her or supporting transition without parental consent.’ A few weeks later the student wanted to enter a female maths Olympiad.

Totally not a social contagion, ridiculous fad or attention seeking behaviour!

I’m trying to ascertain what his union is doing because if it’s my union they probably threw him under the bus because they’re cunts.

In ten years this guy's going to be regarded as a hero.

If they're your union you should write to them about him. Start a petition.

Yeah, I give it until the end of this school year before a person gets revenge on a teacher they dislike by saying "my new given name is 'I'm[teachersname]andI'mapedophile.' My pronouns are [insert slur against student][slur]-self. If you don't use my new name and pronouns, I will have you fired for transphobia. If you do, I will have you fired for molesting children and bigotry. Checkmate, motherfucker."

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Slurs probably break the immersion factor. It's better to simply make a name and pronouns that unfathomably long. Perhaps lengthen it from time to time as you discover new aspects of my personality.

Hello my name is Taramanadafagahijokaponololololonabubaladaradatrachakamakafalaraewuooheeeohhnaaaaapholnakabakatakachousuke. And my preferred 3rd person pronoun is Eeeweeearryamabonalolopolaweritayu and 2nd person pronoun is Eeweeyutolopolopomolotralalalanamadabataye.

Let's just call you Tara ok?

No, you will refer to me by my preferred name and pronouns in full or I will file a complaint. What's so hard about calling me by my preferred pronouns?

Instead of saying. Hello how are you? Just say, Hello how are Eeweeyutolopolopomolotralalalanamadabataye?

[–]LyingSpirit472 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

But on the opposite side, an unfathomably long name/pronouns may be incredibly hard to do, but a properly infected school system will actually do it. Making it unfathomably long wouldn't matter- if you say your new pronouns are "Jugemu Jugemu Go-Kō-no-Surikire Kaijari-suigyo no Suigyō-matsu Unrai-matsu Fūrai-matsu Kū-Neru Tokoro ni Sumu Tokoro Yaburakōji no Burakōji Paipo Paipo Paipo no Shūringan Shūringan no Gūrindai no Chōkyū mei no Chōsuke/ Jugemu Jugemu Go-Kō-no-Surikire Kaijari-suigyo no Suigyō-matsu Unrai-matsu Fūrai-matsu Kū-Neru Tokoro ni Sumu Tokoro Yaburakōji no Burakōji Paipo Paipo Paipo no Shūringan Shūringan no Gūrindai no Chōkyū mei no Chōsukeself", then the person you're trolling will use "Jugemu Jugemu Go-Kō-no-Surikire Kaijari-suigyo no Suigyō-matsu Unrai-matsu Fūrai-matsu Kū-Neru Tokoro ni Sumu Tokoro Yaburakōji no Burakōji Paipo Paipo Paipo no Shūringan Shūringan no Gūrindai no Chōkyū mei no Chōsuke/ Jugemu Jugemu Go-Kō-no-Surikire Kaijari-suigyo no Suigyō-matsu Unrai-matsu Fūrai-matsu Kū-Neru Tokoro ni Sumu Tokoro Yaburakōji no Burakōji Paipo Paipo Paipo no Shūringan Shūringan no Gūrindai no Chōkyū mei no Chōsukeself" to describe you with a smile on their face.

Likewise, the Prince-level "make an unpronounceable symbol as your name/pronouns" doesn't work, since emojis are used as pronouns now and seen as necessary even if they're unpronounceable.

Slurs, on the other hand? The whole point of using slurs as your pronouns is that, under the very same rulebook the Woke use to cause things to be this way, the person you say "your pronouns are slurs" to CAN'T WIN. Either they don't use your preferred pronouns and are transphobic (and will be fired/cancelled/have their life ruined), or they use your preferred pronouns and are the worst type of bigot (and will be fired/cancelled/have their life ruined.) And if it's "well, they'll just use a reverse card and make YOU the bigot for saying it"...uh, you're not their slave, they don't get to name you and decide your pronouns, if you want to make your pronouns slurs they have to accept it or they're transphobic. There is literally no way that the person you use this on gets out of this with their career and public life intact once you play it, and it's done by playing by THEIR rules.

I definitely appreciate the chaotic hilariousness of going by nigger/niggerself, unfortunately due to the double standard and the face their rules are really more like guidelines they follow when it benefits them such over displays of defiance are likely to result in punishment for wrong think as well as put otherwise sympathetic people off of you.

It's far more effective in my mind to play the system without overtly causing offense, your pronouns for example could be the entirety of a Shakespearean play and take several minutes to say which they won't follow and you can get upset. Or instead of going the prince method use foreign languages for inspiration and use pronouns like 貴様 or 皇帝 or something else ludicrous they can't actually say or write.

[–]LyingSpirit472 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Again, playing the system without causing offense doesn't work since, again. The pronouns can be foreign languages and they'll absolutely say and write them. And again, even if the pronouns are the entirety of the Bee Movie script (because come on, like the people doing this care about Shakespeare), they'll say the Bee Movie soundtrack every time they talk about you.

I still defer to the chaotic hilariousness since the tiebreaker is how "I identify as an attack helicopter" has moved from "you're mocking trans people, how dare you!" to "...you are a stunning and brave attack helicopter and you are valid!", so it's the time where even if that happens they can't do anything to you.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Nah identifying as an attack helicopter enrages them because they hate you aren't taking it seriously Identifying as a 潜水艦 is even better because if you write that in the preferred pronouns section not only can't they read it, but they also will be annoyed at the fact, and you can simply claim racism.

Other excellent pronoun ideas

Stu/Pid

Fuck/You

I/Me

You/Suck

Lame/Ass

Gay/Gayself

Mayonnaise/Ketchup

Rape/Rapeself

I mean with neo-pronouns the possibilities are endless for bullshit. Slurs are fucking absolutely hilarious, and if you are black you can totally get away with nigger/coonself and should for the maximum hilarity. But you've gotta be smooth about it.

Personally teachers can get out of most of this by simply referring to students as their last name.

Well maybe if they wore fake titties and a strap on vagina this wouldnt have happened.

Educators have earned every negative stereotype.

To be fair my cousin's a teacher and thinks all this stuff is ridiculous and won't have any of it in the classroom.

But then she had to stay in school and teach the poor kids during covid so I think a lot of scales fell from her eyes during that period.

What's so bad about that? Maybe I misunderstand the point here, but it seems teachers are always complaining they have to do work. I'd like to see the next President pull a Reagan and fire the whole lot of them. With how bad public education has gotten, grabbing people off the street and having them try their hand at it might very well be an improvement.

Why is it only the gutter press that writes about this shit?

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 12 insightful - 1 fun12 insightful - 0 fun13 insightful - 1 fun -  (13 children)

Because the broadsheets (WaPo, NYT, Guardian, etc) have been in thrall to the DEI mantra for years and as a result place such emphasis on representation, decolonisation, equity etc and whipping their own backs for the sins of centuries past, that when shit like this happens they cannot see it for what it is.

It’s how ridiculous “News” outfits like The Daily Wire are doing more to protect children from outright child abuse than the authorities that are paid to protect children from abuse.

Its how the British government can allow an infected wound of sectarian violence to fester in the middle of the country for decades because “Muh multiculturalism” until it blows up into days of bona fide race riots between brown people and the news media tries to claim its just enthusiastic supporters after a cricket match (where neither of the teams was a home nation).

Anyone who says that the infiltration of the media and government by the cretins of women’s/gender/queer/black/fat/etc studies is harmless is a fucking Quisling.

It's really worrying. And it puts us(or me at least) in the position of having to use these arguably extremely biased sources for anything resembling critique. But they're not exactly bastions of integrity either, so quoting them will label you as an alt-right wingnut. It's almost like it's by design.

I mean, we're here ffs. I don't know about you, but I'm a moderately normal social democrat. But enough is enough. All I want is for the powers that be to have fucking integrity but nothing does anymore.

I’ve drifted to the centre but I was a fairly left wing Labour voter (not to mention I was, prior to 2015, pro-trans, having had an acquaintance in the 90s who was trans and no bother to anyone).

My friends are all lefties and I have to be extremely careful who I talk to about this stuff because it really does seem like a lot of people are of the opinion that they like the wool over their eyes and they will shoot anyone who tries to take it away.

I cannot stand Matt Walsh’s opinions on any other subject, but he seems to be the only person in the media to have the balls to call a groomer a groomer. His film should be compulsory viewing for all politicians.

[–]Newzok 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'm in pretty much the same situation. But I've had the pleasure to learn some of my friends are secretly un-woke and had some reassuring discussions. I'm also the token gay in the group so I think I'm assumed to be super progressive. Honestly the impression I get is that more or less everyone secretly thinks its all bullshit. Hypernormalisation of sorts.

Yeah I really can't stand Walsh either but his documentary was surprisingly decent. He's a result of the extremely partisan nature of America... It's that retarded way of aligning everything you think with a certain political direction that bugs me.

[–]Datachost 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Pretty much the same situation here. I've had some conversations where I've tested the waters, pushed the boat out a little then drew it back in to see where people's boundaries lie. I know at least a couple of guys who are of the "We don't have to believe the same stuff, so long as you're not an arsehole about your beliefs" way of thinking. Which is all I want really, I don't really give a shit what your political leanings, sexuality, race or fashion sense are, so long as I know you're not going to flip your shit just because I don't believe the same things you do, or advocate for the same things you do. I don't need you to be a carbon copy of me to enjoy a pint with you, I just need you to not be a lightweight.

[–]Datachost 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I've voted Labour in the last few elections, but with the way things are going I'm hoping the Social Democrats stand a candidate in my constituency, since their current manifesto lines up pretty well with how I feel right now. Really the LibDems should be manoeuvring their way into trying to snatch up the centre, but they're some of the looniest of the bunch right now. I really don't want to vote Tory, since they're so fucking awful on everything else. Wish I were in Sheffield, so I could vote for KJK and get to spite Eddie Izzard in the process

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I saw an interview with William Clouston recently and have looked at the SDP policy pledges and am starting to think that they might be worth supporting in my Labour stronghold London Borough, if nothing else just to show them that it’s worth standing candidates here.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

My friends are all lefties

At this point I feel like anyone still on the left is either not very intelligent, or reading compromised news sources. Their beliefs sound so much like Marxism now. I didn't really think about that until the s/BookClub book was this truly awful Mass Psychology of Fascism and the author is going on about the Marxist lefties, and how the people were just too stupid to know they should really want Marxism, and not Fascism (right wing). And he's trying to figure out what to say to get the dumb peasants to react the way they want, to become Marxists. It was terrible, but his school of thought I see echoed in the "liberals" of day.

I mean, ffs, when did liberalism get so goddamned oppressive under the guise of being progressive.

[–]Alienhunter糞大名 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

There's no shortage of smug condescending idiots who fancy themselves communists or Marxists that think they are better than everyone else and can't fathom how anyone can think differently. It's hilarious as they claim to be Marxist yet are bourgeoisie as fuck and utterly despise the rural and working classes as being beneath them. They are just as much caught up in silly bourgeoisie trends and care more about those than actually doing anything to help the poor and working classes.

Orwell said it best. "One sometimes gets the impression that the mere words ‘Socialism’ and ‘Communism’ draw towards them with magnetic force every fruit-juice drinker, nudist, sandal-wearer, sex-maniac, Quaker, ‘Nature Cure’ quack, pacifist, and feminist in England.”

Any sort of strong ideological dogma leads to this kind of "I'm better than you because I know the thing how could you be so stupid" smugness and inability to take evidence or questioning that goes against your dogma. I'll rail on the corporate medical profit driven amoral capitalist systems when they cause harm to people but you'll share your side of the fence with all the idiots that rail against drugs because they "are chemicals" and that pot or whatever snake oil is trendy at the moment is gonna cure cancer or whatever. Can't argue or reason with them because if you even mention shit like drugs actually working and with proper use being better than some old wives cure with no proof they'll simply lump you in the same as some pill pusher wanting to get you on anti-depressants because your wife died and you feel sad.

Welcome to the alt right.

They told you that we are "bad" but we aren't. We are simply pro-white.

[–]Newzok 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Sure. I'm not exactly anti-white but I'm not anti- any other race either. Race is a very American construction though. And a shorthand for class/culture.

[–]Dragonerne 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

You say you aren't anti white, but you likely have a host of ideas that are anti white without you having ever thought about them yourself, simply because we live in a society that is drowning in antiwhite propaganda, be it media, movies, series, commercials, etc.

[–]Newzok 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, no. I understand. It's in fucking everything and I notice. What astounds me is the way people bend over to accommodate whatever racial thing is seen as right. And I'm super done with racism being slapped onto legit issues just because it concerns certain diaspora.

The narratives and norms spread through mass media are insidious and I think most don't realise it's a subtle brainwash. We all want to do right.

[–]jet199 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It's sadly worse than that.

The Guardian actually take money from Soros to only print positive trans stories. https://savageminds.substack.com/p/whats-driving-authoritarianism-today

I wrote the newspaper’s press office to inquire about the “Supported by Open Society Foundations” statement indicated on The Guardian’s website under its “Genderqueer generation” series. I was sent a very quick response informing me that the “Open Society Foundations made a grant to The Guardian for reporting on gender equality, not specifically for that series.” I then asked The Guardian to confirm what I had found on the its website regarding OSF funding. The Guardian verified that they had received a $250,000 one-year grant from the OSF last Fall.
