My friends' niece was sucked into transgenderism by her social worker. She was 11, was autistic and had had a lot of personal struggles, including moving house recently. She told her social worker she often felt like she couldn't be her true self in social situations, that she had to 'wear a mask' (not literally). Boom, social worker tells her she's non-binary. Tells her parents she has lots of clients going through the same thing; that they must affirm her wholeheartedly blah blah. Kid is given a binder, her mental health nosedives. Eventually she desists.

I think these social workers have shit jobs. Many have limited training. They crave the validation of believing that they're helping these indigo children discover their true magical selves. That they're saving lives. Nice antidote to the drudgery and shitty reality of their real life.

Now of course they're completely invested in protecting themselves from scrutiny and the accusations that they're actually harming kids.

Same thing with teachers.

This is unfortunately top down in a lot of cases. They're receiving shit, faulty training steeped in ideology, which leads to them making shit decisions.

Yeah it's crazy. I think that eventually lawsuits are going to come down on these people once the rest of society catches up to the ideas that are being floated.

Like this social worker essentially caused more distress to this kids life due to misdiagnosis. Very clearly a case of malpractice in my mind. Kid is stressed because of life and has to act a certain way in social situations. That's normal, it's just rougher for an autistic kid since they need to learn the rules and they don't come naturally. How the fuck you go from that to non-binary? By that fucking dumbass logic everyone whom has ever felt they can't fully express themselves is non-binary? How retarded. Also why would you give a non-binary kid a binder? Why would they need one?

I hear a lot about imposter syndrome these days, but nobody ever considers they feel like an imposter because they just aren't very good at their jobs despite obtaining advanced degrees. Higher education is little more than a money making racket these days, and our food and water is contaminated with lead and heavy metals.

It's like watching the decline of the Roman Empire, but we can bitch about it online while everything goes to shit.

Lol I feel this. I definitely feel like my degree imparted no useful skills; in fact, I've had to unlearn a lot of crap. At least I'm not hurting others to elevate myself. It doesn't help that a lot of these worthless degrees are turning into worthless careers in DEI and grievance-holding 'non-profits' that are just social poison.

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Speaking of social poison, Kiwifarms was just blocked by Cloudflare.

[–]Femaleisnthateful 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Fuck. Any idea what is this "imminent threat to life" they're referring to? They seemed to be affirming their right to host KF avery recently

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

I have seen absolutely zero calls for violence at Kiwifarms, but here is Cloudflare 's statement on it: https://blog.cloudflare.com/kiwifarms-blocked/

Feels like they just bowed to public pressure. I am not happy both as a shareholder of Cloudflare and someone who occasionally reads Kiwifarms.

[–]ClassroomPast6178 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

I don’t for one second believe that there was a threat to life (and it wouldn’t be hard to false flag that shit either). Now the mob knows that they just silence anyone they like by pressuring their hosting and, of course, their payment processing. Oppressed minority my arse! When you wield this power, you have no right claiming any kind of oppressed status, cunts!

[–]Datachost 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

That's unfortunately how it's worked for a while. Can't threaten them directly? Go after their employer. Their employer doesn't care? Go after their suppliers and keep going until you find a weak link that can be traced back to them. There's a guy with Klinefelter's who didn't like trans people misusing DSDs and got targeted because of it. He was self employed and refused to back down, so they threatened his suppliers. And because he didn't want to drag them into it he couldn't do his work anymore.

It's how institutions like the IOC got dragged into this shit. if the IOC didn't agree to go along with it, they'd go after their sponsors.

[–]RedEyedWarriorThe Evil Cishomo 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That’s how evil and vile these scumbags are. It’s impossible to do business in a western country anymore because of them.

[–]LyingSpirit472 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

The worst thing is that, now that this basically said "if literally only one person complains or threatens suicide if a company doesn't give them their way, they will cave" is taking hold, the closer it comes to "the only way to fight these unreasonable people's power will be if reasonable people start stooping to THEIR level."

[–]Datachost 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It's an atrocious precedent to set. This is a comment on Kotaku about KF coming back up:

No. SHOOT THEM. Ignoring gives them the ability to do this under cover. You want them gone? Eliminate them. And if that means blood, let's get it on

I'm willing to bet if I look, Kotaku uses Cloudflare protection. Are they going to lose that now, because that seems like pretty clear incitement to violence to me? We all know they're not, but by the precedent CF have just set they'd be able to justify doing it

[–]LyingSpirit472 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Honestly, someone should send it to Cloudflare and make it clear. "You took down KF over a incitement of violence, this person used an incitement of violence too." Make them forced to flat-out say "the rules don't apply to them because they'll whine louder and I'll lose my job if I don't cave", then threaten the same thing. Hell, be willing to say "I feel unsafe over this incitement to violence; if you don't take down Kotaku I'll kill myself and it'll be all your fault" just like they do. Again, the only thing to do to get justice is be willing to stoop to their level and fight like they do.

Dunning-Kruger effect. You don’t know enough to know just how shit you are and therefore overestimate your abilities.

Higher education is little more than a money making racket these days

Am teacher, can confirm. (Not kidding.)

You either adapt to the idea that school is no longer about learning, but about making money.... or you lose your job as a teacher. Students are no longer students; they're customers. You're not a teacher; you're a service provider. You don't imagine the issues I got into everytime I stepped out of line (i.e. cared about teaching and students.)

I insist that giving public education to everyone was an awful idea. Because it's what lead to this crap: the bar got lowered so much it went underground.

James Watson not Watts, a molecular biologist and zoologist, he collaborated with Francis Crick to discern the structure of DNA (DNA had been discovered by Friedrich Miescher in 1869), which gives him absolutely zero expertise with which to talk about IQ.

So even if what you claim is true, it may well be, appealing to the authority of Watson as some kind of proof is nothing but a fallacy.

All these useless degrees play a role in this. You should only go to university if you genuinely want to work in a professional, high-skill career and you have the talent for it. Suddenly, parents, teachers and the media got it into their heads that you are throwing your life away if you don’t go to uni. So millions of young adults go deep into debt for degrees that are either useless or simply not for them (still useless). You don’t need a college degree to join a trade or work in a factory.

I did get a good job out of a college degree, in accounting. But that was my second degree, which I picked from experience. My first degree was in digital media, which I started after leaving secondary school at 17. Waste of time and money. I should have simply gotten a few years of work experience between secondary school and college. I also know plumbers and electricians who just went to trade school, and are making plenty of money to live comfortably.

    [–]Femaleisnthateful 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Agreed. Part of the problem is that it's increasingly difficult to get a good job without that piece of paper. I work with a number of people who didn't go to university and are just as intelligence and capable (if not more so) than those who did, however, it's unlikely that they would be hired in this day and age. I also knew many people who couldn't get a job upon graduating university, and simply got back on the hamster wheel for more pieces of paper. No wonder they end up with stupid debt.

Also, the manufacturing and trades industries are not what they used to be. There are fewer and fewer opportunities for those who can't or don't want to go the university route.

I do think that college is underrated, but again, the diploma/degree needs to be something that confers real skills.

I also encourage young people to take at least a year off after graduating high school to work and consider their options.

Well said. College is not for everyone. I hate that a lot of companies are requiring college degrees for work that doesn’t require it.

    [–]Alienhunter糞大名 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Higher education is largely a joke which doesn't prepare kids for dealing with real life.

It's the whole issue with the money. Colleges are a scam but they've got to keep up the appearances of learning to keep getting paid, but they don't actually have to bother with giving you anything useful they can just keep you content with easy bullshit classes so you keep paying and once you are out they'll already have your money so don't give a single fuck about your future.

If colleges actually wanted to have standards for entry and scholastics they'd have to fail people and not let everyone who wants in to get in. Which of course means less money for the college.

It's such a fucking scam even the teachers have to pay a bunch of bullshit fees for the priveledge of even teaching at the University. It's nonsense. If the students had any common sense they'd be out protesting the school administration for bleeding them dry for nothing in return instead of whining about what someone on Twitter said.

Your friends need to agree, wait, then move because "job changed" and get her out of that situation.

There must be a special place in hell for social workers like her. I hope that friend’s niece got better.

    [–]RedEyedWarriorThe Evil Cishomo 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don’t trust social workers. I am aware of the fact that a lot of parents abuse their children, but I feel like it’s better that the children remain with their parents than get taken into care by the government because of cases like this. I am aware that there are good social workers out there. But it’s hard to trust the institution anymore. And now they are kidnapping children.
