The lack of NSFW content meant everyone fled to sites like Ruqqus and Voat; and when those died people dispersed. Being SFW gave Saidit longevity but it will never compete with Reddit for that very reason.

Is it Saidit policy to not have NSFW content?

Porn is against TOS. Advocating violence is against TOS as well. Gore is okay, but after you post please add the NSFW tag. Also post it in subs where it's on topic.

Well, banning porn seems like a pretty stupid thing to do if you're trying to grow a user base.

It's always been that way here. It's part of the culture here. There's already enough places to find porn on the Internet. Saidit does have /s/Boobs without nudity.

Sex always sells. Betamax learned that the hard way. Well, not really, but you get what I'm saying.

Reddit grew because early on they used bots to give the illusion of engagement of the user base. People come here and see threads with at best 5 replies and move on. It is a two edged sword though, once Saidit gets popular the censorship will start just like Reddit.

I find there's a lot less noise here, and a lot less foolishness. Maybe the correct answer is to have smaller forums (like in be early days), not one massive website which can be controlled. Reddit is a cesspool, which lied it's way to popularity. I'd rather said it not imitate that.

The best way to attract new users is for all of the existing users to regularly mention Saidit on other sites they visit. On some sites the Saidit URL might be shadowbanned so just mentioning the Saidit name without giving the URL might work better.

Yeah it's fucking empty. What could they do to attract users? I wonder how much money they have to play with. It probably costs a dollar or more per person they attract and they'd struggle to get that money back. I don't see adverts or a premium version so idek how they make any money at all
