Node, you've been here since October 20, 2017. I've been here since November 15, 2018, well before Snow showed up and we're nothing alike.

Possibly related disturbers:
/u/Airbus320 = saiditter for 3 months
/u/boeing737 = saiditter for 4 months

IKR? That poser only modded 3 subs! lol (kidding)

I'm pretty used to the trolls and retards, as a denizen of the now defunct 'armpit of the internet'. But note someone is trying to revive it: https://www.voat.xyz/v/all

The groups who try to destroy a site are a different issue than just being mentally defective. I'm glad it's not my problem. In M7s place I'd be inclined to ban all those uvxx accounts, and all the other alts. The problem is the normal users who don't know what's going on think it might be an attack on a fellow normal. Then you get all kinds of drama that erodes trust. Especially if you allow the banned user to make new accounts with full powers.

Then they're free to spread propaganda to get sympathy from regular users and cast doubt on the admins. IMO, new accounts should need to earn their commenting, voting, and posting rights from the existing user base.

Don't know the other one, but /u/Airbus320 seems okay in my experience. Although I feel like I'm flying blind on saidit. User tags and mouseover account info popups are an incredibly tool for those of us lacking an eidetic memory.

How are users going to earn their rights if they can't comment or post? I think barriers to entry are a bad idea, because its bars the contributors as well. I, for one, wouldn't be here if such a system were used. Contributing means giving – I can't stand needing to earn that. I think the system used on Hacker News is a step up. They have downvotes like on Reddit, which I think is a good thing by itself. The difference is that members gradually get more voting power as they establish themselves (both for post and comment voting). This makes infiltration more difficult, but still allows everyone to participate.

Regarding /u/Airbus320: I've seen him post insightful comments, but now that I'm looking at his account overview, I do get the impression he's a troll or paid shill. No idea why else he'd start spamming like that.
