No, let them see it immediately.

People need to know this stuff is here if they decide whether to use the site. Then they can choose to go elsewhere if they want to. Don't con people into using a site they don't agree with.

Also in the couple of weeks I've been here I've seen those people turn up in the comments of every sub. Hiding their subs will only make it seem more of a shock when they turn up in your post about crunchy peanut butter to tell you the juice is behind it.

Finally conspiracy theories often lead to racism but not always, don't conflate the two. You might be snobbish towards conspiracy theorists but that's no reason to declare they must be hidden. Particularly at the moment when we very do much have a small minority controlling the media narrative which doesn't fit reality at all.

[–]kokolokoNightcrawler 46 insightful - 8 fun46 insightful - 7 fun47 insightful - 8 fun -  (21 children)

2 percent of the population running 95% of the world media is no conspiracy, it's a fact. 2 percent running all the banks that are coming for your rent/mortgage/credit payment while you're forbidden to have a job in the middle of plandemic ...that's not a conspiracy, it's a fact... They will own your house, your business and your life and keep telling you on CNN how you're a white privileged homeless person, that's a fact of life these days, not a conspiracy.

[–]Jac0b777 33 insightful - 7 fun33 insightful - 6 fun34 insightful - 7 fun -  (7 children)

Many of the things you have just mentioned indeed are conspiracies, they are simply not conspiracy theories, but rather conspiracy facts.

Nothing personal to you, as you're not the only one that I've seen do this, but it's way too often that I nowadays see the word "conspiracy" conflated with "falsehood". Obviously there are, have been and will continue to be a multitude of conspiracies that are very much factual. The word conspiracy simply means: "a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful", it is not a synonym for something that is inherently false. Far from it. But these days the propaganda has been so effective that the word "conspiracy" has literally been conflated with the term "conspiracy theory" and ultimately with likely those theories that are least likely to be true (Flat Earth anyone?).

Either way, it's a semantic issue, but a highly relevant one nonetheless, one that should not be ignored in such discussions.

[–]whistlepig 18 insightful - 4 fun18 insightful - 3 fun19 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

And funnily enough... the redefining of the word "conspiracy" was an actual conspiracy done by the CIA originally to counter criticism of the Warren report. Go figure.

[–]Desun 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

And then has been weaponized to discredit ever since.

[–]AFutureConcern 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I'm being pedantic, but if conspiracy is "a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful", if it's known and out in the open, doesn't it cease to be a conspiracy?

[–]Jesus 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well no, because they still conspired and are conspiring. It's still a secret to most people.

[–]fartwaffen 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No that's an actual conspiracy.

In case anyone wants, here is a look into the details and some of the reasons for this, including the IQ explanation.

[–]Extract 8 insightful - 4 fun8 insightful - 3 fun9 insightful - 4 fun -  (5 children)

Haha stupid niggers are poor because of their low IQ, they deserve to be where they are

NOOOOOO JEWISH PEOPLE CANT BE SUCCESSFUL BECSUCE OF THEIR HIGH IQ IT MUST BE A CONSPIRACY, NEOPATISM IS RAMPANT THEY'RE STEALING OUR HIGH POSITIONS NOOOOOOOOOOO

On a side note, notice how despite black people being pretty favorable towards other blacks in the USA, those same arguments fail to apply to them?

[–]Prism 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

On a side note, notice how despite black people being pretty favorable towards other blacks in the USA

That's an extremely interesting take when you consider this document that was released by the DOJ, that shows that through 1980 to 2008 that 93 percent of black people who are murdered are murdered at the hands of other black people. There's a graph on page 13 that visualizes this and gives actual stats instead of feelings n sheit.

Black people are largely overrepresented in violent crime almost EVERYWHERE they are, regardless of how much of the population they make up. That's largely against other black people too.

But please do continue explaining how being largely responsible for the pain and suffering of your own people should be construed as being "pretty favorable" toward them.

Obviously it's whitey's fault right?

HE WAS A GOOD BOY WHO DINDU NOTHING. EVERYBODY IS JUST RACIST N SHEIT.

The Albanian Mafia practically dominate Albania and, these days, even Macedonia.

Does that mean, by your hilarious attempt at a snarky 'gotcha' comment, that the Albanian Mafia are comprised of high-IQ geniuses? After all, they are very successful in accumulating power and wealth. If not, care to explain why the Albanian Mafia succeed despite lacking superior IQ, but that Jewish success can still be traced to their supposedly superior IQ? I think it's pretty obvious that Jews succeed for the same reasons that the Albanian Mafia succeed.

And let's face it, you aren't going to be able to worm your way out of this predicament.

[–]Extract 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Seems like you're trying for the same 'counter gotcha' type of comments with absolutely zero points.

An unrelated mafia dominates a country? Well that means DA JUICE ARE ONLY SUCCESSFUL CAUSE THEY ARE A MAFIA HAHAHA LETS SEE YOU WORM YOUR WAY OUT OF THIS ROCK SOLID ARGUEMENT

[–]noice 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

It's not all explained by IQ

https://www.unz.com/ishamir/unz-goes-nuclear/

And I saw another analysis by a Finnish blogger some months ago which said that even IF the higher average IQ were true, it still wouldn't explain the overrepresentation. I will try to find it, but that link is likely to be obscure and difficult to find.

If anyone is reading this and knows the article I'm talking about, please reply.

[–]AFutureConcern 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

On a side note, notice how despite black people being pretty favorable towards other blacks in the USA, those same arguments fail to apply to them?

They don't fail to apply; obviously without black ethnocentrism black people would be less successful than they are.

So the argument is perfectly consistent - high ethnocentrism in both blacks and Jews causes them to have higher levels of success than otherwise relative to whites who have low ethnocentrism. IQ differences between the groups has a larger effect, though, so overall blacks still have lower success, and Jews have even more success than their ethnocentrism allows.

[–]Themagicalmidget 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Pretty much this. They have an iq about 10 points above the norm. This is like saying because white people are typically more successful then black people it's because of our in group. No, it's because our culture values personal responsibility, education, and business more and Jewish people are like white people on steroids in that regard.

[–]PRSanon 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

No, you didn't read the article. IQ isn't nearly enough to explain such high overrepresentation. A culture of hard work isn't a great explanation either. IQ's heritability gradually increases to somethibg like .8 as a person reaches adulthood, it's not environmental.

Most likely, it's nepotism combined with a bit of conspiracy at the highest elite levels. They seem to historically be good at it.

[–]whistlepig 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Its a fact. And a conspiracy. The word "conspiracy" IS NOT a synonym of the word "fiction".

Other than that little pet peeve, I'm totally on board with your comment. ;]

[–]truth_reality_bliss 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Most are not conspiring at all. It's hard coded usury, profit chasing and grab for power.

    [–]Locke[S] 14 insightful - 6 fun14 insightful - 5 fun15 insightful - 6 fun -  (55 children)

I never stated antisemitism and conspiracy theories are related, I said neither should be prominently displayed. I'm not "snobbish" for disagreeing with "alternative facts" and you can go off and pretend I am all you want. This might as well be called right wing Reddit and you're certainly not convincing me otherwise. Two different kinds of Internet cesspools. Lovely.

I'm theoretically supposed to be able to call out what I disagree with here. So are you. Go ahead and go off, call me whatever you want, IDGAF. I see the echo chambers are already working here similarly to Reddit and I'm disappointed. Maybe I shouldn't have expected better.

Unless the mods start caring so many people will be turned off by this site there's no way it will be able to compete with Reddit. Let people leave if they don't agree with everything? That's certainly not in the rules. Is this about free speech or not? Do we want something with actual mass appeal or not?

By all means say whatever you want, but that doesn't mean everyone wants to see it.

    [–]wristaction 39 insightful - 6 fun39 insightful - 5 fun40 insightful - 6 fun -  (29 children)

In summary, you want the mods to ban people from discussing a certain topic which is also banned on every other platform including reddit.

    [–]Locke[S] 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (28 children)

I never said ban it. I said don't prominently display it on the front page.

    [–]magnora7 39 insightful - 10 fun39 insightful - 9 fun40 insightful - 10 fun -  (27 children)

How exactly do you expect an admin to do that? You want me to fake the upvote counts to diminish something? Not doing that, sorry.

What are you actually proposing here?

    [–]Turnaround 10 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 2 fun -  (22 children)

Maybe we can not include some of the more.. "out there" or "distasteful" subs in /all ?

I'm a conservative, but coming on here seeing blatantly racist content is turning me off. I personally didn't leave reddits obvious extreme left wing bias to be surrounded by obvious extreme right wing bias content. But in the interest of letting those people have their place, let's keep it to those that are subscribed to their subs.

    [–]whistlepig 17 insightful - 3 fun17 insightful - 2 fun18 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

That is how the internet is and has always been. Maybe you should go back to just using AOL.

    [–]Jesus 3 insightful - 4 fun3 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 4 fun -  (0 children)

    Or ADL.

    [–]magnora7 15 insightful - 2 fun15 insightful - 1 fun16 insightful - 2 fun -  (14 children)

That's fair, that's basically our policy right now, except how "out there" or "distasteful" something is is judged entirely by how frequently it drags discussion down the pyramid of debate: https://saidit.net/static/PyramidDebate.jpg

I suppose I could tighten that up a bit, but then some people get angry that their free speech is being limited and fear that I am becoming the very censorship we created this place to escape, so it's always a balance.

    [–]Jesus 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Base it on pyramid of debate only. Don't start implementing a distasteful gauge. Lots of people distaste all kinds of things.

    [–]magnora7 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

That's how it is, and that's how it shall remain.

    [–]PrisonMike 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Did you ever kick the idea around of somehow implementing the debate pyramid in the voting system?

    [–]magnora7 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Yeah like if you could vote what level a comment is on a mini pyramid instead of the voting buttons, that'd be cool. It'd take a big re-write of the code though, to add more than 2 categories of votes.

    [–]Jesus 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

That would be so cool. I'd love that.

    [–]PrisonMike 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Ya I figured it would. Maybe it could work in a more roundabout way like the gild/award system in the platform-which-shall-not-be-named.

    [–]everythings 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Way better to err on the side of less censorship than more. People who really want to be free will suffer the consequences of freedom and people who want their safe echo chambers with flee back to reddit and demand this site be nuked from the internet

    [–]Extract 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Is blocking specific subs/users going to be possible soon?
Cause if the answer is yes, you got the solution for this.

    [–][deleted] 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

    You can mute subs.

    [–]Extract 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Then those users got half of what they need.
Any subs that offend their sensibilities can be muted - add in the user option, and they can have their echo chamber.

    [–]magnora7 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Eventually, hopefully yes that will be a feature. It's basically at the top of our to-do list

    [–]jet199 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

My point is that those people don't stay in their subs though.

You probably haven't been hanging out on the far/alt right subs, have you?

Most of the places you will have seen racist posts will be s/politics, s/worldnews, etc. You can't hide all subs like that and only have fluffy kittens on the front page. People mostly come to sites like this for the news and debate around it.

I have to also say I did often see the same level of racism on reddit, but it was often covered in weasel words. So rather than saying the jews were evil and behind everything they would say big pharma/ the banks/ the porn industry was conspiring against us then say "I wonder which group of people run those companies, I'm sure it's just a coincidence". Those comments would always get up voted on reddit and is I'd usually be the only one reporting them, I really hope that was down to the stupidity of casual readers.

So this is why I prefer it to be open. You hate to see the racist posts, good, that's a good and healthy reaction. However on reddit you may have well have been upvoting that same person's post, saying exactly the same thing just written in a more manipulative way. That is so dangerous. Yes, it feels better but you need to show it actually leads to better outcomes rather than allowing a more insidious political grooming.

    [–]Fitter_Happier 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

those people don't stay in their subs though.

Well, tough titty. Neither do you. I don't want you in this sub. How do I go about banning YOU from the public square? I'd feel a lot safer if you just kept your mouth shut. You're making me uncomfortable.

    [–]Jesus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

    [–]kokolokoNightcrawler 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Atho I don't agree with it, IP2 asked to be removed themselves and GenderC keeps banning people for simply being different, having "wrong think" on and off their sub.

    [–]Jesus 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

That's becuase literally everything posted there is an ad hominem.

Conspiracy posts are full of real facts and debates.

If the workd understood the truth, they wouldn't stand for lies. If the world saw and stood for ice Poseidon, nothing wouod change or Aspergers would become a pandemic.

    [–]Locke[S] 8 insightful - 7 fun8 insightful - 6 fun9 insightful - 7 fun -  (9 children)

If you don't like my content leave the post. You don't like being told that, I bet, so why bother telling me? This site is supposedly about open debate, not trying to intimidate people you disagree with into leaving. Come back when you have some actual debate.

    [–]Extract 24 insightful - 4 fun24 insightful - 3 fun25 insightful - 4 fun -  (4 children)

Thing is, you are not debating - you are saying "people (implying yourself as well) are going to leave unless a specific type of content gets censored (and yes, supression is censorship)".

The other person said what most of us agree with - people who want to leave unless something they dont like is censored (be that you or not) can as well get the fuck out right now and save themselves some time.

If you dislike specific comments in a thread, take the time to call them out (or debank them), or upvote comments doing so.

If you dislike the content of the front page, upvote better posts.

Like it or not, those conspiracy theorists are creating actual content for this site, while all you are doing is bitching about them.
Ironically, the very solution to this would be for you to create and upvote better content.

It is you who are calling for censorship. It is you who are whining about the content you don't like. It is you who have the problem and it is you who are trying to intimidate me, here and now by again playing as a victim. How do you suggest dealing with ugly truths like Jewish people dominating our media? AIPAC requiring any presidential candidate kiss its ring? And a thousand more?

These things aren't wacko conspiracy theories. They are real. They are also being silenced, which is why they appear here.

Do you know what the word antisemitism means? It means being hostile towards a Jewish person. Hostile means unfriendly. By definition, antisemitism has nothing to do with racism, but it has been skewed to mean racism towards Jews. But essentially, you are telling people they aren't allowed to be unfriendly toward a Jewish person. Now that's the epitome of Jewish Supremacy.

If Jews are a race, then we should just use the word racism to describe anyone who views Jews as inferior based on their race or who treats Jews poorly simply based on their race.

They own the media and have created their own words to prevent you from even criticizing or being unfriendly toward them.

Your mistake is pretending the truth is a right wing conspiracy. You will have to do some growing as a human being.

Unfortunately it appears that reddit has kicked out a lot of these people (serious racists, white nationalists, and anti-semitists).

They migrated to voat and took it over. Now voat is just an utter cesspool.

This platform was pretty good and had useful and thoughtful discussion, the way reddit did 10 years ago.

I don't know what the solution is, but it appears that a completely free-speech platform will inevitably go to the same path that voat did. This is well-poisoning. You have 3% of the worst of the worst... loud-mouth and awful human beings. And you give them a loudspeaker.

The solution is for you to create and upvote better content.

If you (and others like you) cared half as much about that as the people you whine about care about their content, it wouldn't even reach /s/all

I am participating. I made a thoughful, well-reasoned statement. I upvote thoughtful, well-reasoned statements. I mod a subverse here and post new content to it that is interesting and educational. Calling every single person a concern troll is unhelpful.

Is any criticism of Jewish people anti-Semitic?

    Voat is awesome!

Normally, I'd AVOID any site who's full of edgy idiots who promote antisemitism because they think it makes them special and attention-worthy.

But after experiencing the dictatorial censorship of Reddit? Heck, I'll take racist idiots over censorship every day.
