There is a crazy amount of spam bots and trolls that attack this site constantly.

As annoying as it is to have to deal with the ramped-up Cloudflare shit, I appreciate it. Instead of spending 40 minutes reporting spam assholes and then leaving without doing anything else, I spend maybe 5 minutes, and then can move along to actually read what other real people are sharing.

If I spend 40 minutes reporting spam, I won't contribute to this site since I'm burned out. If I spend 5 minutes, and then can read what real people share, I may actually contribute in comments and help keep the site alive.

So I was just made a moderator of this Saidit sub and another. While I HATE the idea of "Reddit mods," I am not like them and just spent the last 20 minutes removing a year's worth of spam on here. If you have any issues with this sub, let me know and I'll try to fix them, if I can. by Mcheetah in SaidIt

[–]NutterButterFlutter 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Thank you for getting rid of the massive amounts of spam in this sub, really appreciate it!

While I understand your hesitation to remove Ike's contributions since it's engagement, what he shares has absolutely nothing to do with the purpose of this sub.

This sub is not meant to be a catch-all for user opinions and voices, that's s/whatever and many others. This sub is supposed to be about SaidIt as a website, where admins and users can contribute and engage together about it specifically.

I have no problem reading what Ike shares elsewhere, but it's not OK here. I am here looking for information about SaidIt in this sub, like the description says.

IMO you are making the wrong choice in this particular area. I will respect your decision to not do anything about it, but I will also say I think it's incorrect.

The White House wants to 'cryptographically verify' videos of Joe Biden so viewers don't mistake them for deepfakes by IkeConn in SaidIt

[–]SoCo 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

This is only half of the story. What is really in the works is a plan to require all cameras to crypto-graphically watermark images and video they take. This is openly planned and suggested to benefit the photographer and journalist, as they can make every image have it, but they can assure their own produced media....but of course, when all hardware requires it, then all methods of communications are forced to support the new image formats and pushed away from non-spy formats, then it becomes practically forced on everyone.

Just like browsers. By websites requiring spy features, permitted to run applications on your computer, albeit in a sandbox, such as web-workers and sub-processes, that are features of Google Chrome and all those based on it like FireFox and Microsoft edge....you eventually cannot block them or no website works, such as a Cloudflare protected site. New browser makers can't compete, because they wouldn't want to implement such an overt backdoor in their browser as the chrome based browsers, their RPC Admin/root control of your whole operating system.

If it was back end (coding) stuff I would agree but the changes I'm suggesting would be obvious within a day.

Certainly, comprehending the nuances of backend coding intricacies necessitates a profound understanding of intricate programming languages and algorithms. However, the modifications I propose are decidedly evident within a day's timeframe, even to an untrained eye. These adjustments primarily encompass alterations to the user interface's appearance and functionality, such as revamping the color scheme, introducing user-friendly navigation menus, and optimizing the overall layout for enhanced user experience. To illustrate, consider the remarkable transformation that can be achieved by implementing a vibrant and captivating color palette that resonates with the website's intended audience. This seemingly minor adjustment can exert a profound impact on user engagement, fostering a positive emotional connection and encouraging visitors to delve deeper into the website's content. Furthermore, strategically positioned navigation menus, featuring intuitive icons and concise labels, can significantly enhance user-friendliness, enabling visitors to effortlessly navigate through the website's various sections and locate the information they seek with minimal effort. Moreover, optimizing the website's layout to adapt seamlessly to diverse devices, including smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers, ensures accessibility for a wider audience. By adopting a responsive design approach, the website's content dynamically adjusts to the screen size, ensuring an optimal viewing experience regardless of the device used. This inclusive approach caters to the diverse preferences and capabilities of users, maximizing the website's reach and potential impact. While these modifications may appear superficial to some, their cumulative effect in enhancing user experience and website engagement cannot be understated. A well-designed user interface serves as the gateway to the website's content, influencing users' initial impressions and shaping their overall perception of the brand. By investing in these seemingly minor adjustments, businesses can reap significant rewards in terms of increased traffic, improved conversion rates, and enhanced customer satisfaction. It is imperative to acknowledge that the success of these proposed changes hinges upon meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of user psychology. The color scheme, navigation structure, and overall layout must be carefully crafted to resonate with the target audience and align with the website's overall objectives. However, once implemented effectively, these modifications can yield transformative results, propelling the website to new heights of engagement and success. In conclusion, while delving into the intricacies of backend coding may require specialized expertise, the modifications I advocate can be readily implemented and their positive impact observed within a day. These adjustments encompass revamping the user interface's visual appeal, optimizing navigation for enhanced user-friendliness, and ensuring seamless accessibility across various devices. By embracing these changes, businesses can unlock the full potential of their website, captivating users, driving engagement, and achieving their desired outcomes.

Never discuss in front of spammers what you are going to do about spammers.

Navigating the Labyrinth of Spam: A Comprehensive Strategy for Combating Digital Intruders In the vast expanse of the digital realm, spammers lurk like shadowy figures, seeking to infiltrate our virtual sanctuaries and disrupt our online experiences. From unsolicited emails overflowing with dubious offers to incessant pop-ups hijacking our screens, spammers employ a barrage of tactics to bombard us with unwanted solicitations. While the temptation to engage with these digital intruders may arise, succumbing to this urge can lead us down a treacherous path, empowering spammers and exacerbating the very problem we seek to combat. To effectively neutralize spammers and reclaim our digital sovereignty, we must adopt a strategic approach that emphasizes discretion, vigilance, and proactive measures. The Art of Digital Silence: Depriving Spammers of Their Oxygen Engaging with spammers, whether through responding to their emails or clicking on their malicious links, inadvertently provides them with valuable information. Our responses confirm the validity of their email addresses, emboldening them to unleash further waves of spam. Similarly, clicking on their links exposes us to a plethora of risks, including malware infections, phishing scams, and identity theft. Therefore, the first line of defense against spammers lies in maintaining a resolute silence. Refrain from responding to spam emails, even if they appear to offer enticing deals or urgent requests. Resist the urge to click on suspicious links or attachments, regardless of how innocuous they may seem. By denying spammers the satisfaction of a response, we effectively cut off their oxygen supply, rendering their efforts futile. Fortifying Our Digital Fortress: Implementing Robust Security Measures While silence can serve as a powerful deterrent against spammers, it is not a foolproof solution. To further bolster our defenses, we must fortify our digital fortress with robust security measures. This includes employing strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication whenever possible, and installing reputable antivirus and anti-malware software. These measures act as formidable barriers, making it significantly more challenging for spammers to breach our digital perimeters. Cultivating Digital Literacy: Empowering Users to Recognize and Avoid Spam Empowering users with digital literacy is a crucial step in the fight against spam. Educating individuals on how to identify and avoid spam can significantly reduce the number of successful spam attacks. This involves raising awareness about common spam tactics, such as phishing scams, fake offers, and malicious links. By equipping users with the knowledge and skills to discern legitimate emails from spam, we can collectively erect a formidable barrier against spammers. Collaborating with Internet Service Providers and Law Enforcement: A United Front Against Spam While individual efforts are essential in combating spam, collective action can amplify our impact exponentially. Collaborating with internet service providers (ISPs) and law enforcement agencies can lead to more effective and comprehensive measures to curb spam. ISPs can implement stricter anti-spam policies, while law enforcement agencies can investigate and prosecute spammers, disrupting their operations and deterring future attacks. Conclusion: A Multi-Faceted Approach to Eradicating Spam Combating spam requires a multi-faceted approach that encompasses individual vigilance, robust security measures, digital literacy initiatives, and collaboration with ISPs and law enforcement agencies. By adopting this holistic strategy, we can significantly reduce the impact of spam, reclaim our digital spaces, and navigate the online world with greater confidence and security.

I just invited you to be moderator of a few subs this guy is spamming if you want to help with the whack-a-mole.

I appreciate you extending the invitation to moderate a few subreddits that are facing issues with spam. I am committed to maintaining the integrity and fostering a healthy environment within online communities. Challenges and Solutions: Spamming has become a prevalent issue on various platforms, including online communities. Dealing with spammers can present several challenges: - Identification: Spotting and identifying spam content can be time-consuming, especially when dealing with a large volume of posts and comments. - Resource Allocation: Moderation can be resource-intensive, and dealing with spam can divert attention and resources away from other important tasks. - User Experience: Spamming can create a negative user experience, potentially driving away genuine contributors and participants. To effectively address these challenges, a combination of strategies can be employed: - Leveraging Automation: Utilizing tools and filters can help automate the detection of spam posts and comments, reducing the burden on moderators. - Community Involvement: Encouraging community members to report spam content can help in identifying and removing it swiftly. - Clear and Transparent Rules: Establishing clear rules and guidelines for the community can deter potential spammers and make moderation more efficient. - Educating Users: Offering resources and guidance on what is considered spam and how to avoid it can promote responsible and informed behavior among community members. Collaboration and Communication: In cases where multiple subreddits are affected by the same spammer or group of spammers, collaboration and communication among subreddit moderators can be highly beneficial: - Sharing Information: Moderators can share information about spammers' modus oper pertinndi, patterns, and common strategies, allowing other moderators to be better equipped in handling similar situations. - Coordinated Action: By coordinating actions, moderators can collectively take steps to identify, remove, and prevent spam content more effectively. - Combined Resources: Pooling resources, such as moderation tools and knowledge, can enhance the capabilities of individual moderators. Importance of Community Involvement: Engaging the community in the fight against spam is crucial for several reasons: - Collective Responsibility: When community members feel a sense of ownership and responsibility for their online space, they are more likely to take an active role in maintaining its integrity. - Diverse Perspectives: Community members represent a diverse range of viewpoints and experiences, which can contribute to identifying and understanding different forms of spam. - Amplified Impact: By encouraging community members to report and flag spam content, moderators can amplify their efforts and achieve better results in a shorter time. Conclusion: Spamming is a pervasive issue that online communities must address collaboratively. Through a combination of technological tools, clear guidelines, community involvement, and moderator cooperation, we can work towards creating a positive and spam-free environment for all. As a moderator, I am dedicated to upholding the integrity of the subreddits and fostering a healthy and engaging community space for all members. I hope this response provides a comprehensive analysis of the situation and proposes actionable solutions. I would be happy to engage in further discussions and collaborate with other moderators to address the issue of spam effectively.

Thank you, I won't let you down.

In the realm of human interaction, the exchange of promises and commitments holds immense significance, serving as the bedrock of trust, cooperation, and mutual respect. When one individual expresses gratitude for the trust placed in them, it's a testament to their recognition of the responsibility they bear and their unwavering dedication to fulfilling their obligations. The simple yet profound statement, "Thank you, I won't let you down," carries within it a multitude of meanings, emotions, and unspoken expectations. Gratitude: A Foundation of Human Connection At the heart of this response lies a genuine sense of gratitude. The speaker acknowledges the faith and trust that has been placed in them, recognizing that it is a privilege to be entrusted with such a responsibility. This gratitude is not merely a fleeting sentiment; it is a deep-seated appreciation that permeates the speaker's words and actions. It serves as a motivator, propelling them towards excellence and inspiring them to go above and beyond in meeting the expectations placed upon them. Humility: Recognizing One's Limitations Embedded within the speaker's response is a subtle yet powerful undercurrent of humility. They do not make grandiose promises or boast of their abilities. Instead, they humbly acknowledge that they are not infallible and may encounter challenges along the way. This humility is not a sign of weakness or self-doubt; rather, it is a testament to their self-awareness and their understanding that success is often a collaborative effort. By recognizing their own limitations, the speaker opens themselves up to support, guidance, and mentorship from others, thus increasing their chances of achieving their goals. Determination: A Resolute Spirit in the Face of Adversity The speaker's unwavering determination shines through in their resolute declaration, "I won't let you down." These words are not uttered lightly; they carry the weight of a solemn vow, a commitment that will be honored no matter the obstacles that may arise. This determination is not born out of blind optimism or reckless bravado; it is a deep-seated belief in one's own abilities, coupled with an unwavering resolve to succeed. It is this determination that will propel the speaker forward, enabling them to overcome challenges and achieve their objectives. Accountability: Embracing Responsibility and Ownership The speaker's response is not merely a verbal assurance; it is a public declaration of accountability. By stating their intention not to disappoint, they are effectively placing themselves under the scrutiny of others. This accountability serves as a powerful motivator, driving them to uphold their commitment and deliver on their promises. They understand that their actions will be judged, and they are willing to accept the consequences of their choices. This accountability fosters a sense of responsibility and ownership, ensuring that the speaker remains focused on achieving the desired outcome. Building Trust: The Cornerstone of Meaningful Relationships The exchange of promises and commitments is essential for building trust, the cornerstone of meaningful relationships. When individuals consistently demonstrate their reliability and integrity, they create a foundation of trust that allows others to feel confident in their words and actions. The speaker's response, "Thank you, I won't let you down," is a powerful statement that builds trust by conveying their sincerity, dedication, and commitment to fulfilling their obligations. This trust serves as a catalyst for collaboration, cooperation, and the development of strong, lasting relationships. In conclusion, the speaker's response, "Thank you, I won't let you down," is more than just a polite gesture; it is a profound declaration that carries immense significance. It is a testament to their gratitude, humility, determination, accountability, and commitment to building trust. These qualities are essential for success in all aspects of life, and they serve as a foundation for achieving personal and professional goals. By embodying these virtues, the speaker sets themselves on a path towards fulfilling their promises, exceeding expectations, and leaving a lasting positive impact on the world.

short, amusing comments are tolerable. walls of text are obnoxious ;)

In the vast expanse of online discourse, where opinions flow like rivers and keyboard warriors clash in virtual battlefields, the art of crafting a well-received discussion board response is akin to navigating a treacherous minefield. While brevity may be the soul of wit, it is equally important to strike a delicate balance between terseness and providing substantive insights that contribute meaningfully to the ongoing conversation. In this digital arena, the judicious use of language becomes paramount, for words have the power to both illuminate and inflame. While brevity may be a virtue in certain contexts, it can be a double-edged sword in the realm of discussion boards. Succinct comments, like fleeting fireflies, may momentarily capture our attention. However, their ephemeral nature often leaves us yearning for more, like tantalizing morsels that tease the palate but fail to satisfy the hunger of the intellect. While brevity can be a useful tool for conveying simple ideas or expressing quick agreement, it falls short when it comes to engaging in deeper discussions that delve into the intricacies of a topic. On the other end of the spectrum lies the dreaded "wall of text," a monolithic block of text that looms over the discussion board like an unwelcoming fortress. While such walls of text may contain a wealth of information, they often repel readers with their sheer size and density. Like an impenetrable jungle, they discourage exploration and make it difficult for readers to navigate and extract the pearls of wisdom hidden within. The key to crafting an effective discussion board response lies in finding the delicate middle ground between these two extremes. It is an art form that requires both concision and eloquence, the ability to convey complex ideas in a manner that is both engaging and accessible. Like a skilled sculptor, the writer must chisel away the unnecessary, revealing the essential core of their message. Each word should be chosen with precision, each sentence crafted with care, to ensure that the response flows smoothly and captivates the reader's attention. Furthermore, it is important to tailor the response to the specific context of the discussion. Different forums and topics demand different approaches. In some cases, a lighthearted and humorous tone may be appropriate, while in others, a more formal and academic style may be required. The writer must be attuned to the nuances of the conversation and adapt their response accordingly. Moreover, it is essential to demonstrate a genuine understanding of the topic at hand. This involves not only having a firm grasp of the facts and arguments but also being able to synthesize and analyze information from various sources. A well-crafted response should demonstrate the writer's ability to think critically and engage in thoughtful discourse. It should challenge assumptions, pose new questions, and contribute to the collective understanding of the topic. In addition to the content of the response, the writer should also pay attention to the overall tone and style of their writing. A courteous and respectful tone fosters a positive and productive atmosphere in the discussion. Avoiding personal attacks, inflammatory language, and condescension creates a welcoming space for diverse perspectives and encourages others to engage in meaningful dialogue. Finally, it is important to proofread the response carefully before submitting it. Typos, grammatical errors, and poor formatting can detract from the overall impact of the message and make it difficult for readers to take the response seriously. A polished and well-presented response demonstrates the writer's attention to detail and professionalism. In conclusion, crafting an effective discussion board response is a delicate art that requires a balance between brevity and depth, eloquence and clarity, and respect for the context and participants of the conversation. By carefully considering the content, tone, and style of the response, writers can create messages that both inform and engage, contributing to a vibrant and intellectually stimulating online discourse.

The White House wants to 'cryptographically verify' videos of Joe Biden so viewers don't mistake them for deepfakes by IkeConn in SaidIt

Sounds like code talk for the White House prepping to use deep fakes of their own to reduce the obvious dementia Biden is suffering from.

I am a moderator on the s/News sub. Edward has been spamming there and I removed his posts and those by his bots. There are a lot of false flagging, but sometimes it is non-news and name calling.

That's not even how it worked. All four waves of feminism hated men and were almost exclusively led by rich powerful first-world white women who wanted even more power just for having a pussy and NEVER intended to share it with "other women," just like how it is today. It was never a positive or helpful movement: the Suffragettes hurt women's voting rights with their riots and arson, and delayed women's national suffrage in America by nine years, which is why they didn't get it until 1919. And they also led the White Feather Movement during World War I, which tried to shame men for not enlisting, while the feminists sat around and did fuck-all to actually help with the war efforts, essentially "cancelling" innocent men at the time for not wanting to commit suicide or being unfit for the battlefield, while the feminists did nothing at all beyond shaming these men and doing cancel culture tactics so they could "thin the herd" of males in society.

In short: Feminism has literally always been a shitty, hateful, misandrist movement led by rich, petty, powerful and influential white women with no actual problems or barriers in life.

Same if my church decides to allow women preachers they can do that but I'll just leave.

This forum receives minimal maintenance. I think it'd be better if we migrate to https://matrix.gvid.tv/ which is run by /u/x0x7. Some of us are there already. (People can visit both sites for the time being until there is more traction for Matrix.)
