Medium.com is the 88th most-visited website in the world according to alexa rankings, so this is very cool to have this article published yesterday. Thanks a lot to the author and to medium.com for giving saidit some publicity.

Medium.com is the 88th most-visited website in the world

Multiple of 11...?

JK!

Finally, some well-deserved recognition. You've certainly earned it.

Congratulations bro! <clap> <clap> <clap> ;-)

You're a major mod of Saidit, right? It's good to have you comment in our little sub. We were up to like 70,000 subscribers on r/braincels before it got memoryholed.

How are you bankrolling this? I don't see any ads.

EDIT: I just realized I am on the SaidIt sub, not Incels sub. It's hard to tell because the subs have the same UI/skin.

We've streamlined our costs a lot and are run by donations (links in the footer) so financially we're all good

My first Subsaidit was Writing, which I created in about 20 minutes without the banner, because I couldn’t find the dimensions for it. I messaged a moderator who got back to me almost immediately with the info. (It’s 40 X 4500). It then took me about 10 minutes to create the banner with Canva. This sub went from 2 readers the first day, to over 100 by the end of the first week. Now at the end of a year, it is almost at 20,000 readers. My second Subsaidit was Psychology and Mental Health which took me about half an hour to create with the banner. This one started off with 1 reader the first day, had over 50 readers by the end of the first week and now 11 months later has just about 19,000 readers.

Everyone is automatically subscribed lol. The author is kind of clueless.

We just changed that a couple of days ago by the way, so people are only subscribed to the default list instead of all subs. But yeah you are right the author was a bit mistaken about the readership of the subs member numbers

Or was it genius marketing all along? Hahaa.

In case you didn’t know, being on medium is like being on google search, it dosent mean shit.

[–]magnora7[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

It was written by a PhD and got 232 "claps" so that's a good sign at least

[–]Snow 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

... I don't know since the quote of ETH.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Wait really. That’s pretty nice then.

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Yup that's what it says on the page, I think it's an honor tbh

[–]Snow 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

That person is giving the misleaded image of the website to people.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

This person did much more benefit to saidit than harm, relax

[–]Snow 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Okay than.

[–]FACEandLMS 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It was written by a PhD and got 232 "claps"

231 more claps than the author has.

It's the same as being "on wordpress" or "on blogspot". Medium.com is just another blogging platform, one with an extremely irritating comments interface.

[–]potipharbreen 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Pyramid of debate sounds good to me. I fucking hate reddit. If you disagree with the herd groupthink you get downvoted, ultimately censored and banned. Since they're trying to monetize the site, wrong/bad thinking cannot be frontpaged, thus the bots, mods and admins all keep it that way.

Hopefully this site can do much better.

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Exactly, the downvotes are used to censor and control people, rather than to actually give people a voice as intended. We hope to have learned from reddit's (and voat's) failures

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I like our version of up/downvotes a lot. The concept of ignoring a post works great as a downvote and prevents that mob psychology that happens way too often on reddit with valid comments.

congrats on the medium write-up, hopefully much more and better on the way! :)

[–]bobbobbybob 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

it took me a while to get used to the lack of downvote, but it is good.

IP2 seems to have gone with the old ways. I guess change is hard

[–]swordofdamocles42 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

anyone know who owns this medium corporation? i never stay on it. all the popups piss me off.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It was made by some ex twitter guys I’m pretty sure.

[–]swordofdamocles42 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

yeah its got that vibe of the cabal.....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium_(website)

Same guy founded it who co-founded twitter and blogger apparently

[–]swordofdamocles42 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

cheers....

yeah i sorta knew it wasn't for me, immediatly. pop ups are a big giveaway.... they want you to consent to somthing.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah I consider it a main-stream media source. It's cool to see a whole article about saidit on a MSM source, that's really the only reason I'm excited about it. It's a good sign of saidit's growth

[–]ScamCast 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Congrats guys.
