I jest at the term 'trash sciences' because they don't generally work in people's benefit in the present day beyond spectacle. We do not conduct long range space travel, nor do we permanently reside outside of our planet or have strong capabilities to utilise nearby spacial bodies or energy, so dark matter is a research only field with no short term practical use.
