Oh, this is a ton of far left ideology data to sway an entire generation? FTC will find nothing to see here!

Just far left ideology? What about the time they turned a blind eye to net neutrality? You can call that a "right wing" ideology.

After hearing that, I am so glad I quit reddit months ago.

What makes you so sure, Saidit ain't doing the same thing? 😏
I think they can scrape Saidit for free - it doesn't have resources for defense from that apart from Cloudflare. I mean even Edward with his lame bot could scrape 200k Saidit posts (according to his words, I didn't see the data).

I don't know why people don't support alternatives more often given the corruption everywhere. It has become a new battlefield and a lot of people are asleep when it comes to taking responsibility for the way information is handled.

Partly because those alternatives just don't have the breadth and depth of content, built up over nearly two decades, and partly because those alternatives draw a bunch of trash content like bot spam, which the admins then have to put extra (unpaid) work into dealing with or risk the real content just drowning and disappearing altogether.
Reddit is already drowning in bot spam, and they let it happen, because it makes them money.
