I don't know why people don't support alternatives more often given the corruption everywhere. It has become a new battlefield and a lot of people are asleep when it comes to taking responsibility for the way information is handled.

Partly because those alternatives just don't have the breadth and depth of content, built up over nearly two decades, and partly because those alternatives draw a bunch of trash content like bot spam, which the admins then have to put extra (unpaid) work into dealing with or risk the real content just drowning and disappearing altogether.
