One of the first comments is someone asking if this could be because the Mods aren't doing their job.
... They are aware that the Mods silence and censor perfectly reasonable posts and comments that are slightly right of "Insane Far Left", and don't see that as a problem, but rather, when it doesn't happen and opinions that aren't their own are voiced, they see that as laziness and lack of Moderation.

"I can't believe the KGB hasn't come and dragged my friend away yet. He keeps saying he doesn't like how the KGB just come and drag people away!"

Precisely. If there are more conservative comments than normal, it's just because the mods have stopped moderating, which includes their usual behavior of deleting and banning conservatives for no reason except that they posted something conservative.

a dramatic uptick in right-leaning content having way more positive interaction than I would expect.

Or you know... the bots created to target specific users and subjects don't work anymore. Plus mods are basically back to using sticks and stones...

Lower upvote and comment counts paired with a slight feeling of hollowness to this right-leaning content.

Again. Your bots are gone. It drove Reddit's traffic simple as. Sorry spez hasn't given you new toys to gaslight normal people into believing you positions are popular.

and engagement is being replaced by bots or troll farms.

Yes... now that its harder to run bot farms, now is when bot farms are really finding their stride. Perhaps worth mentioning this same user said that interactions and votes are at an all time low... shouldn't it be higher if there are bot farms on the rampage?

This person was so close to discovering the truth.

funny when an iota of actual balanced discourse leaking through becomes a problem

When people are propagandized too much, they frequently assume that liberal left Democrats support open boarders, stricter gun control, no abortion restrictions, and other extremist positions not really supported by either side, but which the media uses a Cybil attack to make it appear are popular positions.

I think those are actually very popular positions among Democrats. You give them too much credit. The time when it was valid to whine about "extremists on both sides," and postulate a rational centrist majority, are long gone.

For me, I think those days ended with the Planned Parenthood undercover videos where that woman talked about selling fetal heads to buy a Lamborghini. The Democrat Party rallied around her, and Planned Parenthood. That's not rational or centrist.

Democrats have also, for decades, supported rational abortion rules and limiting of gun laws. Maybe that has changed recently with AI empowered propaganda, but the polls have long shown both to be bipartisan.

"Right-Leaning" means anything an inch to the "right" of Mao Zedong.

I usually say that they would consider JFK a far rightwing extremist these days

I'm sure there's been banned alt-right subs? Some of the right wing nationalists, I've met over there were very persecuted, they didn't even lean towards extreme right. There's so much censorship and bias when it comes to the SJW left too...

Tonnes of alt-right subs have been banned since ~2016. It’s impossible to be a Nationalist on Reddit without being banned very quickly. Anything right of neo-con “we want the most legal migrants ever!” is treated as hate speech.

YouTube & Twitter are much better, though right wingers still have to word their comments carefully, whereas leftists can openly call for our deaths…

They banned many very boring/normal/typical conservative subs too, especially in 2020. Before Ruqqus killed itself, I'd see reports of some regular conservative sub being banned each week.

To be fair most troons are socially conservative. https://www.metroweekly.com/2019/08/study-finds-transgender-people-are-more-politically-conservative-cisgender-men/

They just pretend to be left wing to push their agenda.
