Yeah. Even the slideline subs like /r/conspiracy, I used to be able to post stuff there and get a wide audience. Now I post the same quality of stuff, and it immediately gets like 5 downvotes and no one ever sees it. So I quit posting there, because that always happens. I assume a lot of other people had the same happen to them. It's how the narrative is controlled, and it's a major reason why saidit doesn't have downvotes.

I think if you ever post on /r/conspiracy your account is marked and you are targetted for vote capping.

Could be. I definitely got banned from a ton of other subreddits for participating there. And it's always used as a character assassination thing, trolls are losing their argument and then they go "Oh I see you post on /r/conspiracy, you're clearly a nutter, no need to pay any more attention to you".

Which is of course why the crazy-sounding subreddit is the only one allowed to talk about certain things. To make those ideas look crazy by association. One way of controlling the Overton Window and controlling the online narrative.

Yep I think they did the same thing to all of us that posted on conspiracy. That reminds me... Did you notice /r/conspiracytheory has been abandoned? The last new post was 2 years ago. I tried to get it but if course reddit would not give it to me....

No I hadn't heard of that one before. /r/conspiracy_commons is alright, it's one of the few I pay attention to. It's not perfect, but it's there

Those down votes are not real, that is reddits way of hiding thier censorship. There has been a lot of evidence exposing vote manipulation.

Not to say that vote brigading didn't happen, but it is not tenable in the long term.

Yeah I know, but it still takes it out of the /rising category and hides it so basically no one else can see it except those browsing /new (which is maybe 0.1% of users). And even if organic upvotes do overcome the automated/fake downvotes you get right away, it will never rise to the same level as something unaffected by this, because of how the hot sorting algorithm works.

So it changes the number of people who will see a good quality post from 100,000 down to like 1,000. Or even 100 views, if it's totally downvote-bombed. It's rough to make quality content and then get shut down repeatedly in this automated way, so it's reasonable to give up. It's sad it's so broken. I made saidit partly for that subreddit basically, and yet I've never been able to get an announcement out about it on that subreddit because it gets downvoted censored instantly after posting, and I believe that has seriously inhibited the growth of saidit. And I think that's intentional, they want to keep people on the reddit plantation, so to speak.

They weaponize downvotes so that your posts and comments are automatically flagged due to negative karma. It is more evident on smaller subs like r/greece, where each comment gets immediately a number of downvotes organized through discord, and each time you get the same number of downvotes. It is more evident with accounts that criticize certain minorities.

I see downvotes in a different way. There's two ways I can get my message across, one is writing something popular that gets upvoted to visibility, but the easier way is to write something controversial. Everyone looks at those to see why it was so awful everyone keeps downvoting it.

When you reach negative karma, your posting rights are automatically restricted. Reddit has also other forms of velvet glove censorship, like automatically collapsing comments based on your social credit and so on.

They capped the downvotes years ago, only 5 counts against your record.

reddit looks like a social media, but it is literally a pedo spiderweb and nothing more..

it is a web of deception and lies..

BEWARE BEWARE THAT THESE TWO REDDIT SUBS ARE EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE TO MANY BUT MY POINT IS THAT THESE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT ARE RUNNING REDDIT.. THE DEVIANTS HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OF THE INTERNET.
