Are you sure they weren't a political lesbian? I'm not saying no lesbians hate men but (as a pretty old and long time out lesbian) I've never heard a lesbian say that in real life but I've heard loads of straight and bi women complaining about what men are like and saying they hate men - I think it comes from dating them whereas I think a lot of lesbians tend to hang around with other lesbians or only associate with men who aren't misogynist a**holes (we don't have the reasons of being in love with them or being married or having kids with them to make us stick around any men who are unpleasant). The only time I have heard this kind of thing in real life was from a radical feminist who was bisexual (but always seemed to date men). Then she had sex with a woman, announced to me that she had become a lesbian and tried to bond with me over how much us lesbians hate men. I don't think she grasped that my attraction to women and my lack of attraction to men has nothing to do with my views on what men are like.

That was a joke, when one man asked why lesbians hate men. Or, at least I thought it was a joke.

I dated once straight political lesbian, just because of curiosity, it was disasterous :)

And I can't really call them feminists, even thought they are calling themselves radical feminists. How can you be feminist, if you are running and hiding, and doing everything only to help yourself and only yourself?

How did that even work if she was straight, did you even had sex together ? And god do i hate those type of people who call themselves lesbians just because they hate men and aren't even bi, they completely make a mockery of our sexuality .

We did once, I was even able to make her orgasm once, but all her body and actions were telling that she is really not enjoying this and that she feeling disgust to this, all I read in her was "but men are even worse, so now I am left only with 'this' instead of sex". I didn't really feel very good about that (and in general I got depressed afterwards), as I felt myself acting rapey, and it reminded me my time with man, but I was not disgusted, it was just "nothing" to me, no feelings, while with her I was clearly reading disgust and hard self-force. She was asking that herself, tho. I said to her aferwards that she is acting pretty stupid with torturing herself. I wonder what is happening with her right now.

Yeah, i recommend to not bother with straight girls, you're only doing both a disfavor despite how she claims to hate men at the end of the day we can't change our sexualities which is why homophobic people are so dumb to believe the gay agenda is turning straight people gay, but the fact that she called herself a lesbian is a big no no, you should have reined her in imo and explain to her why it's wrong and hurtful to do that if she isn't actually a lesbian .

Well, I was pretty young in lesbianism, and was exploring myself, plus it was interesting to me (I am extremely curious) how straight people are with their sexuality and why someone call themselves lesbians and trying to hardforce themselves into homosexual relationship. I did know that everything will be bad, tho, as I did know how it was with my own sexuality. Maybe that lesson was enough to her to realize that sexuality can't be changed and she is just being stupid and self lying?

How many years ago are we talking about, because this whole being LGBT and "kweer" only became a trend in the last decade or so, maybe even less.

Political lesbians are there since 1970s :)

Here we still don't have much of this western gender mess. Mostly because of homophobic-ish society and because our language has no terms for "gender" and everything sounds extremely weird here.

But it wasn't really long time ago, around 2008-09 maybe? That girl was reading a lot of internet, and I has not really have aceess to internet, except during lessons in Uni. I was thinking I am frigid for the first 20 years of my life, and I did not know about homosexuality at all (all homosexual stuff was banned, censored or removed), I knew that I loved women, but I did not know that I could be with a woman, and I was not masturbating, so I was not knowing my body well, and was not sure how two women even can have sex. And then I started LGB activist, joined some feminist circles here, and so on (until stopped around 2013-14).

I am from Ukraine. Nowadays we are going away from homophobia and similar stuff (transgender organizations are trying to light up homophobia back, with promoting transgenderism as conversion therapy). If 13 years ago I was beaten up by students for being lesbian, 10 years ago I was fired for people seeing me kissing woman, - now I am semi-open and it is fine-ish. If 10 years ago it was tought to find serious job as engineer, nowadays no one is looking at sex when searching specialists (and even prefering lesbians as we will not be pregnant most likely). Recently finally even was passed a law where feminitives now allowed and preferable to use in official documents, and previous president almost made lesbian/gay social unions possible, but sadly people elected clown (literally populist comic actor without education) instead of previous president second time.

And neigubourgh Russia going opposite direction, lowering women rights and making more and more homophobic laws and propaganda on TV. Sometimes even on russian wikipedia they are removing any mentions of actors or historical figures of being bisexual or homosexual, even if that was important part of their life.
