They don’t really study women. Most sexuality research is focused on men. And “phallometric” studies where they measure boner response in men don’t work well on women, for obvious reasons. We have different genitals and different biological roles, and different protective response than men would.

Most sexuality related research that studies women is survey based so that isn’t particularly helpful either.

I’ve seen studies saying more lesbians have a longer ring finger than index finger than straight women (whose index and ring finger are typically same length). My index fingers are noticeably shorter than my ring finger, and I’ve known other lesbians with the same thing. Gay men’s finger ratios are supposed to be similar to straight women. I haven’t seen that study in a long time and it could be bullshit. Lol. I thought it was funny years ago.

That big “no women are straight” fluidity study actually found homosexuals and heterosexuals to be the most stable orientation and the bisexuals to be “fluid” but of course it was nor reported that way.

Yeah TBH in recent times there's been a lot of blatant lying and misreporting going on in academia especially the social sciences and sexuality studies. Add in like you said women arent studied nearly as much as men are and you get bullshit like what this teacher said

When males are used as the measure of things, data for women is usually off in some way.

There's actually a whole book written about that very concept called Invisible Women by Caroline Criado Perez. I highly recommend it.

I learned about the data bias in medicine when I was reading about research ethics and methodology etc. It’s a real thing, and it’s everywhere. I should read that book

My ring fingers are longer too, that's related to testosterone in the womb. We simply got hit with more testosterone than normal, which made our brain works similar to an het male.

That’s what I heard. It would sort of make sense if it were true. My ring fingers are WAY longer. I am so attracted to women I am like a “horny guy” stereotype. Even today, a woman walked past me and I had to clench my teeth and hands to keep from turning all the way around to look at her ass. I could tell it was going to be really nice from her front, but a lady was walking toward me and would have seen me check that woman out. Lololol. One time a straight guy checked out the same woman as me and then gave me a head nod and I was super ashamed. Lol. I wonder if it causes the gay.

Yeah, both my ring fingers are longer. And my sexual desire is big too. Ahh, testosterone LMAO

The rest of my body is VERY “feminine” though, a stereotype hourglass. And my face is stereotypically unambiguously feminine too. Maybe the testosterone exposure mostly affects the brain itself

Same

I am not sadistic at all and just really love women, so I guess that comes across

[–]florasis 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I didn't call you sadistic? lol

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I thought I was responding to our other thread about being dominant lol

[–]florasis 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Loving control isn't sadistic. It's just hot.

I'm regularly looking and only attracted to feminine women, also feel sexually dominant. Testosterone hit me harder,I guess.

In term of sexuality, we definitely are like men. Our brain is attracted to the same thing. The finger ratio is established to being related to testosterone, that doesn't mean every lesbian or hetero man has it, it is just that testosterone tend to grow that finger. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn14146-gay-brains-structured-like-those-of-the-opposite-sex/

But the different in size was structural. And that was related to another study with rats, where basically the rats whose embryonic brain was exposed to more testosterone developed a bigger part than one who weren't and were sexually attracted to female.

But rats are used a lot for studying humans. And surely the fact that the same structure caused by testosterone exposure in womb was found in us, it isn't coincidence. Also, structure cannot being influence by social pressure. It doesn't make any sense. It is the structure of the brain.

I am pretty dominant as well. I used to try to suppress it but I just want what I want and I want it now. Lololol. Women seem to actually be into it with me so I have been very lucky.
