you'd think that as gay men they'd be well aware of how dangerous straight men (especially drunk ones) can be.

even in this post they're all like "omg gurl be careful straight men can be so violent!!1" but when we tell them to disclose their status as males with badly applied makeup they'll write a dissertation on twitter about how trans rights are human rights

I'm actually impressed to see some commenters explaining consent to the OP.

I was just scrolling down and the person I saw that said they always tell the person they are trans got downvoted though...

"I've had guys "get surprised" and then tried to assault me because they "weren't f-slur." Cis guys can be complete assholes."

They are fucking delusional. Yeah, i wonder who is the asshole in this situation. I can't imagine why they tried to assault you after you deceived them like a skinwalker.

I'll post this here instead of there because it's pointless to try.

Not only does it happen, but here in America most states will let a murderer use the fact that the victim is trans as a defense.

"Trans/Gay panic defense." Is explicitly not allowed in a few states but that doesn't mean it's an excuse in other states. It just means that the person is allowed to say it as a defendant. The side effect is that the person admits to the murder by using the defense and is likely to be found guilty as a result.

It's especially nonsensical because "rape by deception" is not a thing in the US. You give consent up until the point that you don't. You consent to getting into the bedroom then if you are somehow tricked up until that point then you revoke consent and leave. You can say anything as rude as you want but then any physical assault goes back on you.
