his voice is really infuriating

It’s mostly him being from the upper Midwest. (Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Michigan, probably. My money is on Minnesota.) The region was heavily settled by Swedes and Germans, which has created a very distinctive accent. To some extent, it’s also a class thing. If you talk to a working class guy from the region, he’ll still have a bit of nasal to his voice, but it won’t sound like this. Video guy’s voice is that of an liberal arts-educated city boy.
