I think The L Word (original) is very accurate when it comes to American lesbians. And also that series Killing Eve. Power femmes are feminine on the outside and masculine on the inside... that's what other femmes prefer. Femmes date butches out of convenience... we're easier to spot and approach. No wondering if we're straight, bi or gay... and we likely won't reject you. Femmes fear rejection.

For masculine do you mean the top bs of today? Or just being courting and assertive in dating more giving, like usually man is expected in relationship? A passive femme would want that kind of femme, not all femmes obviously. I do hope most lesbians are in the middle and more into a balanced equal relationship though.

Assertive, yeah. I think passive femmes are bisexual... I don't think any real lesbian is passive unless she has self-esteem issues or something... but she'd naturally be assertive with a great lesbian life coach or mentor.

I don't know. Don't think being assertive or submissive has anything to do with your sexual orientation, especially in a sexual way. Although bi woman might fall more into the passive way, but just because they're used to man courting them and expect the same from women.
