White people using it/its pronouns is the absolute stupidest thing I have ever seen and I absolutely refuse to provide them with any validity.

Me: Your pronouns can't be it/it's. The word "it" is used for non-human objects and is a slur used against gay people, people of color, and disabled people.

It: You're Invalidating my gender identity!

Me: Good. Your gender identity is invalid because you're not a fucking object. You can't be it/its for the same reason I can't be attack/helicopter.

I knew a transwoman IRL who requested "it/its" as his pronouns (either that or she/her). I never called him that. It sounds so degrading, I refuse to call any human that.

Sometimes I refer to babies as "it" but i think that's an anachronistic linguistic carryover of when babies actually weren't considered people til several years in.

It's common but my family gets really upset when one of them has a new baby and I say it about the new infant because it's theirs.

Huh, that's funny, I do that too. For animals sometimes too. I don't mean anything by it, at least not consciously, but that's an interesting point.
