In order to describe material reality some level of detachment from the individual is always needed. That's how science and the production of any knowledge, including philosophy, works.

In order to describe material reality some level of detachment from the individual is always needed. That's how science and the production of any knowledge, including philosophy, works.

I think it would make sexual orientation and figuring themselves out alot less complicated if we used straight-forward language like same-sex attraction and opposite-sex attraction when describing sexuality to youth. Then they could focus on listening to their bodies and who they desire without all the baggage attached to "labels" like homosexuality, heterosexual, lesbian, gay, bi, and straight. It really is as simple as who you love/desire once we get rid of all the bullshit society heaps onto sexuality.
