I think the biggest component is porn. I've seen it come up so often by people who are confused/conflicted. Nowadays, if someone doesn't want to get fucked hard in the ass nor gag and choke on dick... they may believe they are asexual because that's the only type of sex they've been exposed to.

Might be a bit of my own internalized homophobia, but sometimes when I'm having sex with a woman, there's a point where I wanna be closer to her and can't seem to get any closer physically, like I wanna just melt our two bodies into one and lose myself in her. I don't care about penetration much though, as really vagina isn't sensitive, that's why most het women struggle to come with penis in vagina.
