The whole premise of the post is false, making it seem like not buying into gender ideology means that you're for religious-based discrimination in medical care, in addition to which, the issue of trans medical "care" is controversial in the sense that many doctors do not believe -- with good reason -- that transition, especially of young people, is in their long-term best interests.

It's also the case that this law is obviously aimed at reproductive health care and would mostly affect women, being anti-abortion and anti-birth control.

It's pretty obvious that members of Gaybroscirclejerk are brigading AGB.

And what influence do members of AGB have on laws being passed in Ohio by Republicans? Some in that thread are complaining that there's a red "takeover" of the U.S. going on. To them I'd say, "Whose fault is that? Who do you think is driving people away from left-wing policies?"

Who do you think is driving people away from left-wing policies?

I can give you a great example of how trans rights is killing support for Democrats- also from Ohio, and just from last Tuesday!

A Republican rep introduced an amendment to a bill concerning college athletes which would ban biological boys from girl's sports in Ohio. A very popular position, held by 65-70% of Americans.

Democrat reps pounded on their desks and screeched like howler monkeys trying to drown her out while she talked. This was done for optics. They think that made them look good. The main desk-pounder trying to shut a woman up while she was speaking was Cleveland Dem. Michael Skindell, who is gay and has championed gay rights in the past. He is now sponsoring bills which would force women to use the bathroom with men against their will.

A harsh but accurate summary from the opinion piece I linked above (obviously written from the Republican perspective:)

I think bullying and trying to force people to accept their sisters, daughters, and female friends competing with males will backfire. It's an ugly tactic in support of insanity. Feminist female athletes see their own status threatened, and they are for the most part creatures of the left. The whole transgenderism craze has been a top-down phenomenon, with institutions dominated by the left — corporations, schools and universities, and the media — pushing it. They may bully many people into silence, but so long as voting is private, and if the vote-counters are honest (I know, I know), this commitment to madness will hurt Democrats. Blinded by the lack of critical feedback due to their institutional dominance, they will persist in their folly.

I saw his meltdown but didn't know anything about him. Thanks for this info. So he's Ohio's Scott Wiener.

Gay men here, please tell me how forcing women to share bathroom with perverts benefits you? Because I don't think it does. I don't expect gay men to even like women as friends, but I do like to think the gay men on this forum respect our right to privacy. Can you explain men like Skindell (what a name, SKIN) and Wiener (name speaks for itself)?

OMG, Ohio has a Scott Wiener?!?!? (crosses self hurriedly) And he is also gay?!?!?

WTF.

Gay men - you better make your voices heard pretty damn soon, because Scott Wiener in California and this Michael Skindell bully in Ohio are passing/attempting to pass laws that will make normal Americans think that there is some kind of Gay Male Super Plot to enable pedophiles to Q Anon American kids. Wish I were kidding...

Honestly, I think some terribly incompetent PR consultants are to blame for a lot of this behavior. They get told to act out like this.

I can't imagine any image consultant encouraging Skindell's ridiculous behavior. If they did, they're beyond incompetent, because Michael Skindell just looked like a giant baby throwing a giant mantrum.

I'm not an expert on this, but politicians like Joe Wilson have built careers on outbursts like this in the past. I think your average Democratic politician is so far removed from normal life these days they just don't understand that their policies are unpopular within their own party.

Skindell misread the room and cast himself in the wrong role. Not unlike PA House Rep Brian Sims a couple of years ago, who uploaded a video of himself on Twitter offering a cash reward for the names and addresses of some teenage girls (minors) who were protesting outside of an abortion clinic. Not the move! It ended up being referred to the police.

My point being, Democrats are so out of touch it's destructive. My personal opinion: this is what censorship does to you. You cloister yourself away from the world and lose touch with reality. I don't think these politicians have ever seriously considered the idea that they might be wrong.

What an idiot. But yes, Biden-Harris having that White House Transgender Rights conference, or whatever that lovefest was just now, probably irritated many Americans.

I'll bet even lefty types are also starting to wonder why NPR, the New York Times, Nature, Netflix, National Geographic, etc., and ad nauseam, won't STFU about GENDER, GENDER, GENDER.

I've been wondering for years now ☹️

I checked out the Blocked and Reported reddit sub someone linked here and they had multiple threads wondering what the fuck happened to NPR.

It has to be donors.

NPR used to be sneeringly called National Petroleum Radio by some on the Left.

In my experience (of decades), NPR has never been the unbiased journalism it so sanctimoniously pretends to be, but it was never as blatantly shilling for its donors as it is now - National Pharmaceutical Radio is now more like it.

Gay men have been the free-for-all punching bag of social media for quite a while. In the early and mid 2010s, articles about gay men being racist and gay men being misogynistics were all the jam. Accusations of transphobia came later on. Eventually the cis white gay man became this horrible privileged demon that was not only criticized by the right (for being gay), but also by the left (for being cis, white, gay and a man). That feeling of not being good enough for anyone and always being criticized has caused plenty of gay men to feel so inadequate about themselves that they react to their low self-esteem and (unfounded) guilt by doing stuff like this idiot. Though I don't know if this specific scenario fits him, as it's more of a teen/young adult kind of thing, so who knows what this guy's issue is.

I saw video of the Dems acting like rabid baboons when the female lawmaker was trying to introduce the Save Women's Sports amendment.

The Democrats are digging all of our graves with their Gender Ideology Uber Alles stance - even if they're receiving a lot of $$$ to push through these crazy laws, they're going to lose power, so is it worth it?
