I understand your annoyance, I've generally learned to ignore the politics and TRA nonsense, but it can get extremely annoying. I'll recommend a few people though.

Vinesauce: Although his twitch chat is annoying, he generally tries to stay clear from any politics. He does variety of games and is generally just an ok, fun guy. There is a lot of content he has streamed over the years and they are all archived on youtube, so there is a lot to choose from if you're new.

Fitzyhere: This is the only gay guy I've really enjoyed watching. He is really chill and fun and never gets mad playing a competitive shooter. Never really brings up politics of any kind. Downside is if you don't care for Overwatch, his main game (also plays Hearthstone) then you're shit out of luck. Still, I'd say you should check out his '' Fitzy Weekly '' youtube series that's a collection of highlights from his streams. Even if you're not that interested in Overwatch, I think Fitzy Weekly videos are great entertainment.

ZeplaHQ: She is mainly a FFXIV streamer/youtuber who recently got flack for defending herself playing Hogwarts Legacy and generally got the TRAs mad for that reason. She is fun, intelligent, and I think her taking a stance against what is clearly witch hunting and bullying shows great character. She even said she feels better now that she took a stance on the matter, and feels more like herself. Her content itself is pretty great too, if you're into MMORPGs which is generally her bread and butter. She also just does general gaming-related reaction content on her streams and commenting on drama. I wouldn't say she is not an '' inclusive '' streamer who steers from politics, but she took a stance and I respect her for it.

Let's Game It Out: Youtuber who makes videos of him doing ridiculous nonsense in simulator games, trying to break the game or just generally spending way too much time creating stupid but sort of amazing shit. I don't think I've ever seen him bring up anything politics related.

Wilburgur: Youtuber who makes some pretty heavily modded Skyrim and Oblivion content. Don't think there's ever been any politics related there. Just some classic funny youtube gaming content.

A_seagull: Mostly a FPS (Overwatch, Apex Legends) streamer but does some variety as well. Chill dude, no politics, very fun even if you don't care for FPS. Very infectious laugh.

DansGaming: I believe he is gay, and does variety gaming on Twitch. Recently finished Hogwarts Legacy as well. Unsure about how political he is because I dip in and out of his streams, but if you're fine streaming Hogwarts Legacy more or less in full, I feel like that says enough.

Imakuni: Another variety gaming stream, she mostly seems to have a thing for Nintendo and Japanese-made games. I think she steers away from politics, and is just a pretty average geek. I find her content quite fun though, and definitely worth a check.

I can't promise all of these are exempt from TRA nonsense, especially the last two because I'm not an avid watcher, but eh, I think it's a good place to start either way.

Finnish gay here. Can't say it's much different sadly, but there is very clear opposition to trans stuff. One of the biggest public messaging boards (once directed at mothers and women, now a general Finnish public forum for all sorts of people) for instance has had several thousand page threads with tens of thousands of replies essentially pointing out how harmful the trans trend is, and it's clearly the popular opinion there. But outside of the actual common folk being against most of this stuff, we have our twitter '' activists '' yelling about terfs, the Finnish reddit subreddit gargling down all of the trans trend juice without any critical thought, Universities giving credence to non-binary nonsense and the national public service media YLE is definitely on the trans trend train.

It's definitely not the worst, but it isn't great.

I think it's a toxic defense mechanism against how femininity in women attracts attention from men. I've seen some tiktoks of women who essentially say these men who stare at me are queer/gay, because I am non-binary/trans. It feels like a massive cope. They are not comfortable with the kind of femininity they showcase and how it attracts attention they don't want, so they masquerade behind a label that (allegedly) puts off men they don't want attention from, and if they do get attention, they can feel more secure and gain some sort of power in that '' haha, this guy looking at me is a total queer and he doesn't even know it haha, bet he'd freak out if he knew '' kind of way.

I know it's a censorship issue, but gay male characters are still treated different than lesbians in kids cartoons even outside of that, as gay men are inherently seen as hypersexual and predatory, while that kind of stigma isn't really that much present in lesbians. This adds another layer of discomfort when it comes to adding gay males into series aimed at children. Still, maybe the inclusion of lesbians in children's media will open the door for gays... eventually.

It is very evident that in the topic of gay representation, actual LGB people have no say in that discussion, whether it's praise or criticism. Most discussion seem to center around gender specials, trans people, '' queers '', spicyhets and other radical woke activists. Not only are we LGB people rarely the demographic content creators and artists are trying to reach with their LGB characters, we also seem to have very little power in the entire topic of representation overall.

With that said, most cartoons completely suck at handling gay male characters and sideline them to irrelevant nobodies or their sexuality get Dumbledore'd, all because parents, executives and the suits can't stop thinking about anal sex when they see gay men in cartoons, and thus think it's inappropriate.

Gay men have been the free-for-all punching bag of social media for quite a while. In the early and mid 2010s, articles about gay men being racist and gay men being misogynistics were all the jam. Accusations of transphobia came later on. Eventually the cis white gay man became this horrible privileged demon that was not only criticized by the right (for being gay), but also by the left (for being cis, white, gay and a man). That feeling of not being good enough for anyone and always being criticized has caused plenty of gay men to feel so inadequate about themselves that they react to their low self-esteem and (unfounded) guilt by doing stuff like this idiot. Though I don't know if this specific scenario fits him, as it's more of a teen/young adult kind of thing, so who knows what this guy's issue is.

Here's a few manga recommendations

Ao No Flag by Kaito - A coming of age high school love drama. That might sound boring at first but it gets somewhat interesting eventually. The portrayal of the gay guy and the bi woman are both very discreet and well done, and people looking for something relatively inoffensive and non-stereotypical might get a kick out of these. For a manga, it exceeded my expectations.

My Son Is Probably Gay by Okura - Another good portrayal of a gay high school student and his everyday life trying to juggle his closeted identity while simultaneously having a major crush on his friend. It's very cute and wholesome. This one is made by an actual gay man as well.

The widespread liberal '' choice '' feminism and social media activism rampant with awful takes by social reject teenagers and young adults who aren't qualified to make any sort of insightful comment on any subject, have made it so that conforming and consenting to stereotypes and reclaiming them is the biggest form of rebellion towards the heteronormative, homophobic society. Fighting back against stereotypes is considered self-hating, misogynist, racist or homophobic. The critical analysis of homosexual male and female stereotypes in media has left the building somewhere around the early 2010s, as has the marketability of homosexual male and female characters.

But there's also a lack of passionate gay and lesbian artists and content creators (in their perspectives industries) in the first place. I've also seen several gay artists who once created exclusively gay content get hired and then mostly disappear completely from creating the content they used to. Besides that, most gay content in cartoons, TV shows and video games aren't being made by gay people, but often by non-binary demisexual heteroflexibles or just straight people. We aren't producing our own representation, and I reckon it will stay that way for a long, long time.

With all that said, there's nothing necessarily wrong with homosexual characters who happen to be more or less stereotypical. It all comes down to what the writer does with them and whether the character is just a one note stereotype or just happens to inhabit stereotypical traits while being a complex character. But that often doesn't seem to be the case.

I would have to agree. Some of them do read as male from this one picture, and admitting that doesn't really prove anything except with that money, surgery, dedication to hormones and the right genes, even as a woman, you can read as male. But regardless of that, they are still women, putting on a morbid costume. They lack male biology and especially male genitalia. And even beyond that, their '' male '' experience as women who might read as men isn't at all the same as the experience of maleness that actual males have gone through their whole lives: from gender stereotypes and gender roles to male socialization, other cultural and individual factors that affect how men experience their sex and maleness, and puberty and growing up as men. Add to this male homosexuality, and you have so much that no straight women pretending to be a gay man can fully comprehend, understand or emulate, albeit they might try. All of this is part of the attraction to the same sex (to me), to fully recognize someone of the same sex and to be able to understand and even relate to their experience as a person of the same sex that they are. Male biology and the experience (no matter how individualistic the experience might be) growing up as a biological male are both important.

The issue with LGB communities and spaces especially for young people is that they are going to be riddled with predators if they are not moderated well. LGB teens are often very vulnerable and that makes them targets for predators and we can see some of that happening in the current trans discourse where confused youth are being '' mentored '' and '' assisted '' by adult perverts.

I met like, 2 gay guys, 2 bisexual guys and 1 lesbian in a forum for Japanese self-published indie video games and music. From there I progressed onto tumblr and the gays wouldn't stop popping up! Also met a group of gays who were all fed up with trans stuff on tumblr as well, after like 10 years of being there, and now we have a Discord. You don't necessarily need a LGB-specific site to meet other gays, most of my acquaintances I've just met through exploring the internet and it's various messaging boards that focus on my interests!

I heard about that case, it was super fucked up how all the gendies and women ganged up on him. But Malulani should've waited until after his book was released to throw some deserved shots at gay male romance as a theme and a subject always being produced and made by women for other women. He shot himself in the foot honestly, even if his book being cancelled is absolutely ludicrous and he didn't deserve it in any way.

I don't think your friend has any malicious intent, but I think it's good if you reminded her just how hard it is for lesbians to find matches (or respect for that matter) and how her supposedly innocent dating profile can honestly just strike a damn nerve and feel like she'd invading a space she has absolutely no right to be in. I have a lot of sympathy for lesbians having to navigate the jungle of spicy hets, trans-identified men and girls looking for threesomes, but I wouldn't say it's much easier for gay men. Well nobody said it'd be easy. I got a lot of help with just meeting gay people for the first time online on forums. That was really the start of my self-acceptance, to have direct contact with someone who was also gay and completely open about it. It cleared my minor gender dysphoria then and there as well. In terms of sexual exploration though, and not just coming into terms with being gay, obviously porn was there, but I also read non-explicit (as well as explicit) boys love manga and while that genre obviously has some big issues, it was nice to have a story, fully-realized male characters acting out a gay love story. Anime, video games, manga and cartoons also were very near and dear to my heart, and I've had an active imagination since I was a child, and eventually the male characters from different series started to appear in my fantasies, often not explicit but rather bigger stories with my own original male characters and whichever character I fancied that time. It sounds pretty lame but I still do it to this day and I'm 26!

Overall I think cultivating creativity and imagination in gay teens and meeting other gay teens is generally the best way to include something other than just porn in ones sexual exploration. Obviously there's a lot more to it and a lot more to change (parenting, media, education...), but that's just my anecdote on how I dealt with my sexuality when I was a teen beyond looking at porn. I wouldn't say porn scarred me or anything, but I don't think it really helped me either to achieve anything except being wank material, and I do sometimes worry about my porn consumption habits to this day.

I can't say anything about the gay porn industry, obviously it's a toxic industry just like the rest of the porn industry, but I don't know enough to criticize it.

What I can say is that when gay/bi boys grow up and start exploring their interest in the same sex, the first thing we come across in our exploration is often gay porn. In no way whatsoever can that be considered a good starting point for any gay/bi youth. There's no gradual easing into one's sexuality, it's a lot of guilt, shame and confusion about who we are, and when we try to look for answers, we often than not come face to face with gay pornography and that can and will often have an effect on how we view intimacy between men and how we view our bodies that can often be destructive for the rest of our lives. While some kids might be lucky to have good parents, good education regarding gay sex and sexuality, and have a safe way to find and indulge in gay male media aimed at gay teens, most of us weren't that lucky. We get dropped straight into the world of homoerotica and pornography; no talking about same sex crushes with your pals, no putting up posters of boy band members or handsome actors, no reading gay teen literature, just a pretty steep drop into the world of gay pornography.

I'm obviously not saying that pornography immediately ruins the lives of gay youth and their perceptions of themselves, but regardless of what you think of the pornography industry, you can't honestly say that watching gay pornography is a good way for gay youth to explore their sexuality, especially when they might already feels confused, angry, sad, depressed, anxious, ashamed and guilty. So overall I'd say gay pornography is an issue for gay/bi teens specifically.

So how can gay and lesbian spaces remain completely biological sex oriented if we are to accept trans identified women and men as male and female regardless of their biological reality? You are in this sub for that reason as well. And if you try to pull some '' it's just a loud minority and actual trans people don't agree with current trans ideology '' you are out of your damn mind. No trans activist is stepping up to the plate to protect LGB people, GNC youth and women. They are watching the havoc in the sidelines because they know in the end, they gain from this.

Well if it's satanism, it has marvelous results for religions and their deep-rooted hatred for homosexuality.
