I haven't seen it, but I've seen some TQ channels on YouTube (like Council of Geeks) accusing it of 'queerbaiting'.

They only call it queerbaiting because nobody seems to understand that male platonic friendship does not equal romance if they're not bro-y dudes.

Completely agree. I get people relating to a story's message through the lens of sexual orientation, but I've seen articles that are like "(story writers) should have just ADMITTED they were gay!" and it's like... that's a yawning chasm you're jumping across to make that assumption.

edit: Will throw in the caveat, regarding Luca specifically, I haven't seen it but am going based off of descriptions I've read and heard. Sounds like I should see it, though!
