So, from the multitude of gay guy and straight lady friends I have irl, I can tell you now that people who like dudes like the male characteristics that we, as lesbians, find kind of gross. (Body hair, giant muscles, deep voices, etc.) I’m definitely not about it, but a whole lot of straight gals, gay bros, and bi people are. These people are a cancer and the scourge of both LGB and LGBT+. I can’t tell you how many people are hanging out in r/latebloomerlesbians basically diagnosing themselves as lesbians (and to a lesser extent bisexuals) based on wildly off-base Internet checklists and no real life experience meaning (experiencing actual attraction to real in the flesh women IRL and not some hypothetical attraction to photos, characters, some imagined lifestyle, or escapist fantasy. I do think the best thing for me when I was coming out to myself was letting myself feel my feelings when I was out and about in actual life and trying to get better in touch with those feelings and not shut them down. Not analyzing what potential circumstances I could feel some amount of attraction to some hypothetical woman.
