We've done this to death now.

I'm fully convinced at this point that if there's not a pedophile ring being operated by Reddit, Reddit is fully in service to pedophiles. That statement is so disingenuous - it makes it sound like Aimee was targeted because her father was a pedo (poor innocent Aimee!) and references 'rumours' about Aimee's affiliates as though they're not fully proven and public knowledge. It situates Reddit as a victim. It also seems to infer that Reddit will continue to censor discussions about Challenor, because it's 'time to move on'.

I wouldn't be the least surprised if there are powerful paedophiles operating n the upper echelons of Reddit. The Epstein-Maxwell-Prince Andrew scandal has really revealed the extend of that depravity among the rich and powerful and the overlap with TRA/AGP circles is pretty clear now as well.

Or they're trying to desperately avoid any scrutiny whatsoever because everything and everybody connected to the site is covered in poo.

Wanting to know who is interacting with teenagers - arguably the most vulnerable group on Reddit, regardless of how they identify - should be fully supported by Reddit. Moderators (and Admins) should be held to a higher standard than regular members. And if they are unfit to moderate i.e. have power over other Redditors, then they shouldn't be allowed to moderate.

I was going through ThomasJeffersonMod's profile this morning to learn more about how Admins treat/threaten some moderators. His former username is SpezForgotSwartz, and he was demoted on the WatchRedditDie sub by an Admin named Chtorr (usually see him in the ModSupport sub). It's interestingly hypocritical how the Admins target/harass mods... but it's not okay for regular Redditors to denounce mods.

Please note all comments and posts relating to this statement, will be removed from r/LGBT, as we as a community need to move forward from this issue. If you wish to discuss the issue, you may do so in other subreddits or in private messages. We will continue to allow questions and concerns that are in good faith to be submitted via ModMail.

This and the part implying that 1. Aimee wasn't already considered a public figure and 2. the article in question connected him to Reddit has me rolling my eyes so hard. Revising the situation to fit a narrative and shutting down easy discussion and/or criticism? Color me shocked /s

And what other subreddits? The ones with mods also connected or sympathetic to him? Absolute bullshit. Not surprising, but still bullshit.

I read the statement earlier. It's so pathetic, transparency was promised, and never delivered. About as transparent as ten feet of radiation hardening.

"As a result of [doxxing and harassment] threats, much of the [former moderation team] stepped down." (Emphasis mine.)

Maybe they stepped down in protest, instead. Should be interesting to see if any of these people crop up with a story to tell.

Threats, you say? I understand if your personal identity became known and that you were moderating /r/lgbt from Tehran, that might pose a significant threat. But otherwise, why is anonymity so precious? Maybe the mods were getting death threats? Or maybe they had something to hide. Could be criminal, could just be embarrassing. If you need to scrub an account, just scrub. "Hey mod team I've known for years, say I've been posting under StackOfCards1234 all over reddit for ages, but I need to protect my personal info, so I'm just going to moderate under SamuelMorse86 now, okay?" Easy peasy. Maybe that's exactly it, and there are not new mods.

LGBTQ+ and GSRM can also be considered separate things. LGBTQ+ makes some stab at "who the sub is for." GSRM is anything that's not heterosexual--defined here as the activity of sex with opposite-sex partners, because it sure as heck ain't bowling. So furries are in, and while I do very well know that furries overwhelmingly have non-heterosexual identities, being a furry is pretty darn different than being gay and I wouldn't so readily mix the two groups. Are they furries because they're gay and bisexual, or are they gay and bisexual on account of being furries? It's the latter.

Also, shame on Reddit, Inc., on multiple accounts.
