Ok I don't even know what he was trying to say to you... "we are homosexuals, we don't do gender roles" just because one attribute about us inherently goes against sex stereotypes does not mean we can't fall prey to them in other ways. And I know that "femme" how you mean it is just how you naturally are, not a gender role thing. (I do see some "queer community" people consciously choose to adhere to stereotypes and say that makes them "femme" so I guess I could see how he might be confused, but...)

Thanks for the heads up, lol. I guess the occasional commenter like this spices things up around here, hahaha.

I wasn’t even talking about being “femme” and didn’t even use that word actually. I don’t even go about in life calling myself that. I just get called that by others and so mention it when relevant here. But in the post in question, I only brought up being “feminine” looking as context for men flirting with me and assuming I’m attracted to men because I often (but not always) wear makeup and dress in clothes that read as leaning more feminine. I get little sense of identity from it. The only reason I brought that up was in the context of explaining why bisexual women might find women more intimidating than men because men assume interest even when there’s nothing there (as in I’m gay so they’re projecting feels on me based on appearance alone). And this bozo saw fit to invade a Lesbians-only space to respond to an old comment of mine to wax poetic about how I’m some gender role-enforcing butch-hater, which flies in the face of, you know, my entire life experience including my current relationship and everything I’ve ever posted on here.

But let’s be real: the real nerve I touched was defending bisexual women from a sweeping accusation as this dude clearly has it out for bisexuals.
