Take a look at my comment. The rules of this sub are stated clearly-- OP simply had a few posts removed for being off-topic. That's not "silencing people just because they disagree with you."

Mods will remove opposing viewpoints

This is literally the rules of the sub. You're arguing against yourself - and losing.

I'm not sure if you're lost, but yes, this is a Saidit sub that practices topic-censoring-- however, WITHIN the parameters of those rules, there is a ton of diversity of opinion, and the mods are consistent about the rules they've defined. Like I said, the mods don't "silence anyone just because they disagree," they follow the community rules. (Unlike some other subs where the mods break their own rules.)

If you have an issue with the existence of Saidit subs that have topic-censoring, take it up with Magnora.

"We've got both kinds of music! Country and Western!"

The "opposing viewpoints" this refers to are subjects that TRAs would like to "discuss", but are not appropriate for our sub. For example, here's some of the things we remove:

  • Steve Universe says Trans Rights!
  • TERFs get the wall
  • I'm just wondering, why are you all so fucking stupid?
  • Trans women of color gave you your rights
  • I'm trans and I have a few questions for you

SaidIt IS a debate and free speech site, and technically, all subs can and should allow these kinds of posts along with a multitude of other subjects.

However, Magnora (the main admin and site creator) understands that some subs want to stay focused on their goals and causes, and that means they wouldn't want to debate within that sub. As such, he gives mods an option:

Remove yourself from s/all, and place a clear and precise statement in your sidebar indicating that you're censoring.

Voila.

Now, if you're referring to removals of content you feel is genuine and appropriate for this sub... that's called "nope, sorry, it doesn't fit within our rules and guidelines". I don't go to a Catholicism sub to talk about politics, I don't go to a News sub to promote a new musician, etc. Likewise, there are some things people want to talk about here that aren't LGB-focused, and would be more appropriate for another sub.

The whole reason you got kicked out of Reddit in the first place is censorship. It blows my mind that you don't see the problem with censorship. "It's OK when we do it, but not OK when others do it to us." I guess that's the classical liberalism that y'all reject in favor of lived experience and other pre-Enlightenment values.

We got kicked out of Reddit because our rejection of TQ+ ideology is considered "hate speech" and "bad faith claims of discrimination made by the majority".

We won't allow our space to become colonized and overrun with TQ+ propaganda. If you want to call that censorship, be my guest.

So, you got kicked out by someone else's subjective idea.

Now you're implementing your own subjective idea and kicking people out based on that.

How do you not see that you are two sides of the same coin?
