It sounds like you met the opposite type of who I met then :) I've met some effeminate gay men (as acquaintances) and you could tell they were effeminate in how they communicated and behaved. Not exactly like women but women like. I imagine your friend would have been at the extreme end of that. And that is what I though all trans were like. It shocked me when this guy came out, I was puzzled because they weren't effeminate, most of their friends were guys, they liked doing the same stuff as your average guy. That twigged me onto Blanchard's typology and I realised the source of distress for this person came from a very different place to your friend.

Yeah, I got to know a real trans. The harmless one who is a female best friend because he acts a lot like a girl and would never fit with guys, not the perv presenting as a lesbian.
