How the fuck can someone be “not cis” without TRANSistioning??? They will really say the most nonsensical bs...

Everything is valid, because god forbid anyone make an explicit definition for anything out of the fear of INVALIDATING and GATEKEEPING, the woke boogeymen. 👻😱

This is the end result if participation trophies... everyone thinks they deserve to be in every group...

Whoever thought up participation trophies should be vilified by history.

Thankfully, this wasn’t a thing at my school. Hopefully my school hasn’t adopted this crap since I left.

Idk, people make a big fuss about them, but I don't think I was much affected by participation awards. I think most children intuitively know when they haven't earned something. And place the personal value of the award at the same level as the effort they put into getting it.

Idk. As much as I’d like that to be the case, there are too many people my age whining about fairness and not being accepted and the like. They seem incapable of recognizing that differences in competence exist...

I think most children intuitively know when they haven't earned something.

The key word in that sentence is 'most'. Most children, as you said, would probably just smile meekly and accept their worthless award that they know they didn't earn, but some children lack the self-awareness to feel embarrassed by that, and would genuinely think 'Wow, I am so good at the egg and spoon race!'

A queer theorist's dream. Identity categories that are nonsensical because there's no clear criteria as to who's what. That is a major component of queer theory activism--trouble the identity categories.

On the flip side, those people who are fetishizing identities, well if you let everyone into your identity group, then your identity becomes meaningless.

I find the modern crusade against gatekeeping (not just in this context) hilarious, considering we're also in the age of accusing things of being cultural appropriation.

So glad to see I'm not the only person who has noticed that those two things don't really work together
