Yeah? I was debating making an anonymous Twitter account just to reach out to them, but I haven't used twitter before so I'm not sure if you can even DM people that way.

That, I cannot definitively answer, though it looks like in certain cases you'd need to verify your phone number. This might be a good starting point, or someone else who uses Twitter more might have thoughts: https://help.twitter.com/en/using-twitter/direct-message-faqs

It might be just as easy to grab an email address from something like Protonmail.com, which shouldn't require you to submit real contact info for verification. (I am assuming they have a public email address, though I certainly wouldn't be shocked if they didn't, given the abuse they would receive.)
