In 2020, it's LITERALLY controversial apparently to say lesbians don't like dick and gays don't like vagina. So that means that me, as a lesbian, could literally, right now, decide to identify as a man and scream to straight women they're being transphobic for not seeing me as a 'real men' and that they should not only see me as a real men, as be attracted to me. I've been to yaoi panels at anime conventions and the room ends up being filled with like 80% women who have an unbelievable mental lexicon of yaoi. 10% gays. 10% straight boys who saw the 18+ and unknowingly show up to be mentally scarred.

The enjoyment I get here is watching the straight boys response when they learn what yaoi is for the first time. The gays in the room are more amused in a cringy way. The women are all screeching in excitement like banshees as they literally show some rape scene.

This was years ago at this point so perhaps they have now morphed into FtMs. Also the yaoi they showed was kind of crazy and the host explicitly stated that they had to show limited scenes because most of the stuff was way worse. The implication was that there was some extremely underage stuff going on in the scenes that they didn't show.

The thing they showed us was really crazy. The older character was clearly an anime looking adult like 20s or 30s and the bottom was stated to be of age but was drawn to look very young. The older one clearly seems to rape the boy as he says no and fights back but they give him the anime blush cheeks as the other guy goes in. The thing that really made me go wtf was the close up shot. Of the bottom guys taint. The first penetration had the top line up behind him then slam it all in at once and a big bead of blood runs down the taint. Like a shot glass of corn syrup.

I think that only now do I realize how fucked up those girls were. There were about 3 reactions in the audience my friends and I looked at each other and I think we found it so ridiculous that it became funny. I remember looking and seeing the straight guys in something like shell shock. The girls in the room though... when the blood came down and the boy did his anime blush the girls did their gleeful screeching. They were all smiling and clasping their fists in excitement. I remember talking to my friend there asking wtf is with these girls? He blew it off like they were just "weird" and then so did I.

And now we are in a position where those people are dictating morality.

Hey now. I was one of those screaming girls cheering in excitement as they literally show a manga about a rape scene between a man and some teen who looks barely legal.

I'm also not a nutcase that can't distinguish reality from fiction. Don't lump us all in the same category. Otherwise, you're like those people clamoring that playing Mortal Kombat turns you into a murderer (and then this means we have 11 millions potential murderers!).

Don't get me wrong. Somehow, I could bet that somewhere there's some dumb girl who doesn't understand the difference betwen porn comics and reality. I'm also guessing there must be some mentally disturbed individual who thinks the fatalities in Mortal Kombat are an inspiration. However, that doesn't mean yaoi or violent videogames are to blame here. Ban those, and they'd just turn their stupidity or insanity somewhere else. And you can't censor the entire world, especially when non-crazy people enjoy that stuff for fun.

I'm not against yaoi in general but this stuff is essentially CP but the characters are animated so they can claim that the 12 year old looking guy is 18.

What are you screaming about while watching this? The gay guys that watched it had a (yikes / cringe ) response. Those girls were basically screaming in excitement over animated violent CP rape. The weirdest part is the animated reaction of the boy who seems fine having himself ripped and bloody. I think the blood is what really pushed me over the line. I don't know what "artistic expression" was being conveyed.

Do you know how dog cubs would play biting each other? But they don't actually hurt each other? That's kinda the same thing.

In all honesty, if you campaign against rapey yaoi, you should also campaign against every sexual or violent media.

Again, watching a slasher film hardly means you want to chase promiscuous teenagers with a chainsaw.

Hey there. The majority of fans of this hardcore rapey yaoi tend to be young (teenagers or first college years). Adults tend to tune it down a bit.

I've spent my school years with certain likeminded friends and we would go to the yaoi section of comiccons and squeal at the non-con, the shota, and all that. Heck, I remember my classmates playfully made fun of me by gifting me a bunch of plastic toy snakes, due to a porn yaoi comic I had about a talking snake who raped some dude. Good times.

So, I know from first experience. It's not about "trauma" or "under-developed sexuality", but mostly the exact opposite of it.

The "shock value" part of it? That part is true. It's like when you get a thrill watching a horror film, but then you get used to it, so you seek out an even grosser and gorier horror film that can still scare you out.

It's harmless fun and it's about as dangerous as heavy metal fans listening to "demonic" song lyrics.

I've never met a yaoi or shota fan who wasn't actually a perfectly normal and adjusted lady (if a little bit on the nerd side)...... but I'm sure that somewhere there has to be some yaoi or shota fan who is genuinely disturbed. Keep in mind, however, that doesn't mean that yaoi fans are disturbed, but that a disturbed person can happen to be a yaoi fan.
