  1. Pre-peaking, a friend told me to read The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson. Afterwards, I pointed out the obvious fact that the author was a straight woman pretending to be gay while also telling gays and lesbians how to live their lives. The friend got angry at me and told me I was an obtuse bigot. We stopped speaking after that.

  2. I had the audacity that to point out that Ezra Miller is a straight guy who likes makeup and that doesn’t make him gay or able to speak on behalf of gay people. A different friend told me I was a homophobic asshole for that.

  3. Met a real-life AGP transbian who very clearly fetishizes lesbians. I got to watch a bunch of people pretend it was fine and normal.

  4. Being told by a longtime friend that sexuality is fluid and that I should go with the flow.

  5. Seeing national gay rights organizations (e.g. GLAAD) tout the exact same ideas I had rammed down my throat in conversion therapy as progressive.

  6. Having to stop going to the gay bar in town because it was overrun with creepy transwomen.

I'm not familiar with Maggie Nelson, is she trans identified or something?

Please drop some stories.

I havent read it, but a book review i read basically says she claims to be “”queer”” because her bio male bf is “fluidly-gendered” (and ofc they have a kid together, soooooo queer of them, ugh).
