The fact that they redefine family really irks me. Sure as an adult you can choose whether or not your family is in your life, but for kids that's just way too confusing and they're definitely not in position to be choosing who their 'family' is.

Agreed. I also don’t like this because teenagers are impressionable. It’s not hard to imagine a teen who’s mad that their parents won’t put them on puberty blockers or laughs at their claims of being a demisexual star gender enby. And it’s really not hard to see a teen like that using this to decide their parents don’t love them and aren’t really family.

Idk, I can’t know the author’s intentions, but this feels irresponsible at best.

Agreed. This does nothing to support kids in working through this stuff with their families. It feeds into the rhetoric you see in certain communities that if your family is not 100% on board with this crap that they need to be cut out completely. Which is a shame, because family are often the only people who genuinely give a crap about the kid as a person an not as an NB whatever. And then the kid just feels more isolated and that drives them further into the community...

It's a cult.

It IS a cult, but also something weirder. At least with traditional cults, after they alienated you away from your family, they had a physical place for you to stay, they gave you food and put you to work so that you can be profitable for them. With this cult, if you don't have friends to run away to, or a means to support yourself (as a teen/young adult) you're going to be homeless. And the TQ cult wont swoop in to rescue you and take you someplace warm and safe and lovebomb and brainwash you. You'll just be outside and alone. I don't get it.

We'll if they're male they could always go to a homeless women's shelter.

It could also lead to them being groomed online to run away and be part of their 'real family' who 'loves' them.

You’re back! I was actually thinking about you and StrictlyDykely yesterday and wondering where you were.

Alright, I'm gonna put on my tinfoil hat and note that it's also the kind of tactics pedos use to groom kids. "Oh, your parents don't support your gender identity? It's okay, I can be your family now haha." And let's face it, the Queer™️ community is rife with pedos. We've already seen the abundance of pedos trying to "crack the egg" of vulnerable and confused teenagers to groom them. I wouldn't be surprised if their influence indirectly had some effect on educational material like in the OP.

This is why I hate the word "queer", because since the inception of "queer theory", pedos have attempted to use their "queer" identity to force their way in. It's horrible and I won't stand for it.

I cannot stand this ridiculous idea that it's an extremely good thing to encourage young people to disavow or lie to their biological parents, it happens with trans organizations too and that's why you see gender clinics meeting children without telling their families first. I understand the impulse to tell children that they aren't defined by what their potentially abusive parents think of them but trans people will call anything less than full acceptance "abuse" and a lot of parents of gender-confused children really do have their children's best interests at heart when they want to put off things like surgery and hormone treatment.

As opposed to the homophobic parents of "trans" toddlers that are subjecting their gnc children to a lifetime of medical abuse and oppression lmao. Some of the fundamentalist Christians will admit outright to spanking their kids for not filling sex stereotypes
