Hey, so these are the glossary definitions in a new book about gay rights for young people. 1. Note how gay and lesbian are defined by attraction to gender. 2. The term homosexual is curiously absent, but heterosexual makes the cut. 3. Homophobia makes gay people “uncomfortable,” but transphobia is linked to violence.

That's because misgendering is LITERAL VIOLENCE.

TQ+: you can't use the word homosexual, but it's because we worry about you! The homo- prefix is overly scientific, the -sexual part oversexualizes you, and the word structure is related to viewing it as a disease!

Also TQ+: so let's talk about bisexuals, pansexuals and heterosexuals. Also let's use scientific prefixes cis- and trans-.

Still TQ+: homosexual is too clinical and scientific sounding. Let’s use the prefixes trans and cis which are pretty much only used for organic chemistry.

Actually, their definition of homophobia doesn't include the word gay. It's about straight people making "queer" people feel unsafe. And what is queer? Everyone! Asexuals, graysexuals, nonbinaries, demiboys, genderfluids, etc.

  1. Homophobia makes gay people “uncomfortable,” but transphobia is linked to violence.
