Thats what gets me. These groups on campuses seem to be like the opposite of Alcoholics Anonymous, where instead of working as a support group to overcome a problem, they work as a group to enable and support problems and bad decisions.

That's exactly it. They need to stop validating each other for simply existing and start to think up ways to function in the real world. The average gay guy isn't going to validate this person by fucking them; he shouldn't freaking have to. This is not how the world works. In any case, I feel really bad for this person and think the friend encouraging them to do this was a real asshole. Should have fucking known better.

Nor should a lesbian woman feel obligated to validate a heterosexual male who identifies as female. The idea that all validation is good is a horrendous myth being perpetuated by the trans movement. It's not even validation, it's enabling.

Right? Whatever happened to chasing accomplishments? It's all about validation these days. I can't imagine how shitty and confusing it must be to grow up in this environment, where your personality and skills mean nothing next to your identity.

This is really the crux of the issue. Instead of socializing and finding their place in the world, they are in these insular echochambers online that don't jive with the actual world around them. They become disillusioned and depressed and it's truly sad to see. Everyone at that age stuggles to figure out who they are. But now we're giving them irreversible body-damaging hormones and false validation.

Except I feel like for lesbians its 1000% creepier and cannot be laughed off. AGPs also seem to tend to have a higher prevalence of stalking behavior.
