The question becomes though: do we risk damage by creating a forum within a community that has users and even moderators who are actively pushing alt-right, anti-science, fringe conspiracy content like how COVID-19 is a scam? The lies about how going on hormones will somehow completely alter your bone and muscle structure are such nonsense; we're a sexually dimorphic species where the males tend to have more muscle mass than the females. There's real biological reasons why we categorize physical sports based on sex and it would be just as valid if it were the other way around and females happened to be the sex with more muscle mass as it is in some other species.

Forcing a woman to compete against a male in an event that requires the use of very specific muscle groups is no different than forcing a boxer to compete against someone well above their weight class. It's one thing if it's explicitly a unisex sporting event where there's no expectation of competing in a specific physical category, but most of these cases are sex specific events where a clearly male individual is allowed to compete against females, and claim his accomplishments on behalf of womanhood. It's not to say that unisex events should not exist, but sporting events are often split by sex for very good physical reasons!

The new pride flag also isn't terribly good from a creative standpoint. The rainbow itself was meant to be symbolic, in that it's all the colors of the visible spectrum, thereby representing everyone in the LGB community regardless of ethnic background or skin color.

The new flag is far less subtle and more literal. It's not good from an artistic standpoint. You've got literal skin colors represented on there now; okay, so what about people who are neither white nor brown? Native americans or other cultures, are they supposed to be offended by the lack of a tan color representation or something? Are they supposed to be satisfied by the rainbow portion? Eventually some complaint like that, ridiculous as it sounds, is going to come up again, and they'll decide the flag needs to be remodeled.

The point of the abstract rainbow was it encompassed everyone from the get go, without literally needing to have skin tone colors in it to get the point across. The new flag is meant to be a bludgeon, with all the subtlety of a wrecking ball.

As others have said here, the goal in arguing with them isn't to convince the person you are arguing with. They're usually too steeped in their delusion to be convinced by logical reasoning, and the only way they'll ever change is having a personal epiphany after a long period of introspection.

The real goal of arguing is pushing back against trans ideology for the sake of people who are undecided or on the fences, to show that there are a lot of people who are definitely against trans activism, and thereby gain broader societal support and thus political strength, allowing us to actively push back against the delusions of the movement as a whole.

It's whether or not an individual human is a member of the sex that has the capacity/has the chromosomes to (under normal circumstances) produce sperm, or eggs. Transgenderism is essentially used as a coping mechanism, an unhealthy way people who are struggling with personal identity issues deal with their problems by fabricating a newfound (and tenuous) identity. It's no wonder that mental health issues are often diagnosed in trans identifying individuals.

One of the dirty little secrets the trans lobby don't want the public to know is that suicide rates are unaffected by whether one has transitioned, even in accepting, supporting environment in a liberal country with relatively strong trans rights activism. They want to be able to continuously spread the lie of "YOU'RE LITERALLY KILLING US", screaming it any time valid criticisms of the trans movement are voiced, all while ignoring the fact that suicides in the trans community are tied to those underlying mental health issues, which are going totally unaddressed as people now transition without basic medical oversight (or "gatekeeping" as they'd like it called).

Transgenderism is essentially an ideology that promotes the embrace of delusion as a panacea for their underlying mental health issues. Trans people are their own worst enemies, health-wise.

The messaging is very similar to people who are into more extreme forms of body modification for aesthetic reasons (tattooing, piercing, implants, etc). But I think there's a major difference between fans of body modification, and the transgender activists promoting transgenderism as having absolutely no drawbacks or potential criticisms.

People who get extreme body modifications done are generally adults; it's not something kids would be allowed to do at a professional piercing or tattoo studio. It's not something that's actively promoted to children, it's not something children are shamed into doing, and if you're not into someone with a load of facial piercings or tattoos you're not called a bigot or accused of committing "literal violence" if you aren't attracted to them. You also don't see people claiming they've literally change sex or species just because they've gotten body work done, and demanding other people refer to them as such.

Transgenderism on the other hand encourages ignoring underlying mental health issues, and using massive does of hormones and frankly bad cosmetic surgery of the genitals as a way of dealing with those underlying mental health issues. All while demanding we declare how stunning and brave it is for heterosexual males to shame lesbians into sleeping with them. And demanding we act directly as fetish material for their autogynephilia by being forced to declare we view them as definitely real and authentic women or men, and not men and women who've just had some surgeries done but were still fundamentally born a particular sex.

One of the major lies perpetuated by the trans movement is that detransitioning rates are low; the reality is the transgender movement actively lobbies against scientific studies that would look into this and get accurate data. The trans movement also actively tries to downplay any detransitioners as being unimportant because they don't want transgenderism as being seen as anything other than pure, stunning, and brave for all involved.

The reality is maybe detransition rates are much higher than we know. Maybe they would be much higher if there wasn't a huge stigma in the community against people who've detransitioned. Maybe there's not a lot of official detransition because people who realize they made a mistake don't see much other choice than going with what they identify as now, especially if they've had an irreversible genital surgery. We simply don't know.

People in academia have also been effectively silenced by the trans lobby's very successful campaigning. There's very little good data on studies of trans individuals, as anything that the trans lobby sees as less than 100% supportive could potentially be damaging and therefore is a threat that must be squashed before it can be studied. The reality is that the gay (male) community needs to really step up its vocal support of women who are speaking out against this far more than it currently is. Women are perfectly capable of fighting for their own rights of course (women's suffrage is a testament to this), but the trans lobby wants to frame the women speaking out against the abuses of the trans movement as something like "bad feminism" or "bad lesbians", and claim that it's not representative of the LGB community. They benefit from using this as a wedge to frame lesbians who speak out against it as not being true members of the LGB community.

For everyone's benefit the sane members of the LGB community all need to speak out about these issues, because it signals that it's okay to be critical of the claims of the trans community, essentially helping to normalize it and showing that criticism of the trans community is far more widespread than they'd have you believe. For the sake of everyone being hurt by this (women, children, even the members of the trans community), we need to shift the power and attention away from the trans community, who want very badly to maintain control of the public discourse, and have so far been very successful despite being a minority (a very, very vocal and belligerent minority).

And they got away with their demands by constantly saying "what's the harm? we're just asking for respect". In a lot of ways, they used the success and the same arguments made by the LGB movement to gain traction in society, and we all told ourselves we were doing the right thing by being accepting. But LGB people never made unscientific claims about their own identity; it was simply that people should have the right to be romantically or sexually involved with the same sex. That was it.

Meanwhile, the trans movement was founded on delusion, and then more and more delusional demands until trans ideology was built up to where it is now: a ridiculous house of cards, relying on society to go along with its lies, capable of telling people homophobia is progressive and validating, and that women are not allowed to have their own space, their own sporting events, and that science that shows sexual dimorphism is literally bigotry.

I am male, and I have raged at my friends when they make casual jokes about how JK Rowling is a transphobe, and don't realize how infuriating it is to hear them mansplaining how her feelings are transphobic and therefore invalid even though the lot of them haven't even bothered to read her essay. A lot of gay men are thankfully waking up to the fact that lesbians are in real danger from the movement, but there's still a lot of gay men who haven't realized that they're extremely fortunate that purely because of the sex they were born as they're not currently in the crosshairs of the transgender movement's ire, and that women are actively under attack by a well-organized group of delusional heterosexual males.
