My friend never listens to me and I feel crazy

I have a friend which is pretty indeferent to positive about trans identified males, she says they just want to be happy and it doesn't affect anyone, while I obviously think the opposite.

I don't talk too much about it to her because she has a talent of misinterpreting what I say and today was an example, we were talking about Chris-chan.

I was surprised she didn't refer to him with female pronouns and remembering our past conversation where she said trans people don't bother anyone else and they just want to be happy I decided to tell her "he is going to a female prison".

She said "he shouldn't be around people regardless of gender, he should go to a psych ward and that's it", I answered "he is a man and raped his mother, he shouldn't be around women" and she didn't say anything.

How can she miss the point so hard? How can she not notice the harm this will bring to female prisoners that have nowhere to go? Nowhere to run? I feel insane... idk, I don't have anywhere else to rant so yea...

I understand how you feel so much :( It's hard seeing what looks like mass insanity and everyone around you seems to be afraid or unwilling to speak to basic truth. I've seen it in friends and family. It hurts most when women who claim to be feminists don't care about female prisoners at all. Like, they don't give ANY consideration to their safety, just tell me that it's a "tiny issue and doesn't matter."

I don't have any advice really about your friend, or I'd take it myself. All I can say is that I feel the same way, and I trust that a lot of other people do too. Try to hold on to that, and reach as many people as you can.

I've expressed my concern for women being imprisoned with these dangerous men, and I'm STILL told "Ultimately it doesn't effect you" as if they're still talking about just peeing in a public bathroom. There's nothing they won't look the other way on.

It's curious you say that. I think a lot of people today are confusing empathy with being emotionally connected to a particular idea. The woke in particular will accuse the non-woke of 'lacking empathy', while they're calling for death to TERFs and pretending that women being raped in prison is no biggie. I blame social media, where people tribalized themselves and convinced themselves that only the tribe mattered, that their group was the only humans. That's how I see it anyway, but I'm not sure how we break the cycle.

I just want to return to monke tbh lol, joking and not joking at the same time. Although I see the positives about the internet it brought more negatives if anything, I wish it would vanish sometimes

My husband does this same thing and I don’t understand it. He is very liberal and he doesn’t read like I do, so I don’t think that he or people like him fully understand exactly what’s at stake or the awful impact this has on women. He’s just been told to obey and have blind trust, I guess. I wish that they would listen to us. He almost never gets angry but with this subject I feel him bristle when I bring it up, as though I’ve said something racist or equally horrible. They’re brainwashed and it drives me insane. He is the love of my life and listens to me about everything else, but not this subject. It’s infuriating.

Willfully ignorant. She privileges male sexual fetish. Tell her it's the same with pedos. They just want to be happy. Your friend isn't a child, so she won't be affected. Same with men who have sex with dogs. I mean, it makes them happy, and no PEOPLE are harmed. She's on board with that too, right?

My elderly mother wants to change in the department store dressing room without a MAN getting off on his sexual fetish watching her. I guess your friend has a problem with that.

We've certainly learned from this Transvestite Nightmare who uses their brain and who follows whatever Big Brother tells them.

An old friend, the first person I ever came out to, is this stubborn when it comes to several left issues. Even when presented with incontrovertible evidence that X has, in fact, turned out to be a horribly shitty liberal policy, rather than admitting her support for it was wrong or misguided, she goes silent in a way that almost feels like she's doubling down instead. So frustrating - these people are the only reason this shit hasn't crumbled yet.
