I read the new version over and tried to make sense of it in comparison to the other versions the other day. I ended up with a migraine and an outbreak of shingles in my trigeminal nerve.

From what I can surmise, the most recent version of the EA that the US House of Representatives passed last week has a long, entirely new preamble that was not in earlier versions - and the preamble does indeed mention some women's issues and some of the forms of discrimination girls and women have faced for being female.

But the body of the bill doesn't seem to be any different from before. Except that it seems they've removed the part where it said there could no longer be any exemption on religious grounds.

But this is just my impression. I am usually a careful reader who in the past has helped draft and edit legislation, but still I am not a lawyer - and mess that is the US "Equality Act" makes me feel like my brain has melted.
