I looked at my vulva with a mirror to find out what it looked like in the old "Our Bodies, Our Selves" era of the 1970s. Many women back then did, and I've encouraged many girls and women in the decades since to do the same.

I also looked at my vulva with a mirror a few times after childbirth to see how the tears were healing. This was especially the case in one instance when I had to put a lit high-watt lightbulb close to my vulva several times a day to speed healing.

But never once in my life have I looked - nor has it occurred to me to look - at my vulva when sexually aroused.

Then again, I've never made a porno tape or watched porn, or had a desire to record or watch myself having sex, giving birth, breastfeeding and so on. Nor have I ever posted a "selfie" or photo of my kids, house, pets, meals, car etc online.

BTW, I am very happy to see that OP and others using the term "fauxgina," which is a neologism I invented.
