Is it a feminist action in Islam? Was putting your daughter in a nunnery a feminist action?

Good point. Lots of sex-segregation that has created female-only spaces over the course of history has been anything but feminist. Numerous female-only spaces - nunneries, menstrual huts, harems, separate curtained-off sections in places of worship, the Magdelene laundries, homes for unwed mothers - have been created by men as ghettos for members of "the second sex."
