Talk about missing the point, LOL. Normie in this case isn't being used as praise, but as a pejorative.

The issue with calling others "normie" (or conversely, abnormal) isn't how these words might make anyone else feel, it's what they reveal about the attitude towards others of those use who such terms. Calling others "normie" (or conversely, abnormal) means the user sees him- or herself as superior to them - and in this case, as enlightened and clued-in compared to them. It shows smugness and snobbery. Which ironically is usually a sure sign of lower intelligence and insecurity, not higher intelligence and self-confidence.
