oh god. How is this even helping anyone? It is extremely performative and does nothing but other people. Shit like this is why conservatives are winning. They are doing a great job convincing people that we don't care about the important stuff like healthcare, the economy, jobs, ect but only care about being woke. It used to be conservatives that are were hellbent on banning things they hated. Now it is the opposite; conservatives are defending JK Rowling and Harry Potter and liberals are the ones that want the books banned.

Leftists in the past used to go out to factories to unionise the workers, provide free labour to help support working people and guide them whenever necessary. Then as now, most of the educated leftists do not come from working class backgrounds but they were compelled by very good authors and scholars to help their fellow man.

Now leftists just want to feel superior. The whole world has descended into narcissism. It's why we identify into smaller and smaller groups. It makes us elite. Left wing people don't want to educate workers on unionising or any of that stuff. No, critical race theory or lgbt stuff is what we do now

Matt Taibi had a similar observation

At some time in the last 10 years... the democrats went from the party that I knew of (attacking bush, his endless wars, his reduction of civil liberties, his ATTACKS on the press, the "criticism" of 'youre not american if you criticize the wars', not to mention the cheating in 2000, to the party that supports all those things.

Remember when President Obama ran against Bushes wars? And closing guantam? And he led as a slightly left- republican.

Even his court nom was a slight conservative.

It's either the parties were the same all along, or some kind of massive power grab happened post 2008 and completely realigned the parties.

We've seen how much Mccain's and Romney's policies match with President Obamas... heck the ACA we got was 90% from ROMNEY's plan HIMSELF!!!!

Our elections have been loaded to have candidates that the super (politically connected) 'Approve' of, and that would explain why nearly every candidate except for the two outsiders was a big load of crappy crap for the last few elections.

Anyways, I still consider myself liberal, but its disheartening seeing the so called liberal party leaving behind the values that once made it great to you.
